Making Lemonade out of the Lemons Life Gives You

How we deal with adversity is more of a reflection on ourselves than on the world around us. Sometimes it just seems easier to just give up and stop trying. When we chose to relinquish our power, we also extinguish our passion for life. Instead of making life easier, we become like leaves in the wind, being blowing and tossed about without control or power in our own lives. However, when you chose to make the best out of situation by seeing it as a challenge, you open yourself to emotional and spiritual growth. It isn’t always easy, nor do you always receive the end result you seek; however, by focusing on finding alternatives you empower yourself, while strengthening your self-esteem.
Many times you are place in situations that are not fair. You are deliberately hurt by others for reasons you cannot understand. Although you cannot control their actions, you can control how you react. When you surrender to your fears, doubts, or self-destructive behaviors, you usually find that you have lost more than you have gained. Instead of finding security, you find your self-esteem slipping away, which opens you up to being further victimized. However, by refusing to take the negativity inside yourself, you are more able to see the reality of the situation. More times than not, it is the other person’s issues that are causing the conflict. If you refuse to play a role in their drama, it will be easier for you to grow past the situation. Like the old sayings says--when life gives your lemons, make lemonade.
