Horse and Heroes: why I support veterans
Horses and Heroes is a combination of documentary series that will tell veterans’ stories as they learn new coping skills for their physical and emotional challenges. Although Equine Therapy will be the stage, the focus will remain on the veterans and how their lives, as well as those of their families, were impacted by war.
Additionally, we will be hiring veterans, both those already in the industry and those looking for new careers, for the jobs both in front of and behind the cameras.
Each season, Horses and Heroes will be filmed at a new equine center, which has an existing veteran program. These non-profit centers offer therapy free of charge to veterans. But their funding limits the number of veterans they can help. Each season, Horses and Heroes will pay a location fee to the hosting center. In addition, they will receive a percentage of the net profits of the season they host.

Veterans can’t go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from now and make a brand new end.
Originally, Horses and Heroes was to be an episode in our series about horses, Spirit of a Nation. However, when I started doing the research, I quickly learned that there were many diverse veterans' stories to be told and a greater need for them to be shared than what one episode could contain. I decided to set Spirit of the Nation aside and develop it at a later date.
Horses and Heroes is a Reality TV series, which combines the highly effective Peer Support Therapy with Equine Therapy. Unlike most in the genre, it will focus on healing and positive growth rather than endorsing bad behavior. Each season will bring together veterans from WWII to the current conflicts. They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions to their physical and emotional challenges. They know the talk because they have walked the walk. They see the dodges and will be able to call each other on them. Sparks may fly. Tempers may flare, especially when they force each other to face their ghosts. But there will also be laughter and fun as they rebuild the comradery, which kept them safe and strong. The snarkiness and practical jokes between the branches don't simply end. There is always room for just one more. When it airs, it will reach into the homes of the veterans, who need to hear that they are not alone, and give them information as well as permission they need to also heal. They will help each other find their way back to the world. Veterans can’t go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from now and make a brand new end.
Additionally, veterans will be hired for jobs both in front of and behind the cameras. There are already many veterans in the industry. They will be given priority for the jobs. But we will also be doing the necessary training that veterans will need for new careers.

Horses and Heroes: A Healing Documentary for Veterans
People
have asked me what we need for Horses and Heroes. What they are
really asking is how would helping us benefit them. The answer is
very simple. We are offering excellent opportunities to embed
products/services in a family friendly documentary that will appeal
to a very diverse audience, especially those who are in the military
and their families. The paperwork was completed to grandfather H &
H into Section 181 of the Jobs Act, which gives investors a K-1 tax
deduction equal to what they invest. Our connection with the cable
channels make potentially very profitable.
Horses
and Heroes will be formatted for cable networks, such as the Military
Channel, other Discovery networks, History Channel, AMC, and A &
E. We also have a foreign television distributor interested in
presenting Horses and Heroes to their European networks. Our
director, Larry Wilcox, has a strong connection to a distributor, who
has connections with universities, colleges, and medical facilities.
However, we will also be sponsoring a very limited theatrical
release, which will act as fundraisers for veterans’ organizations
such as Wounded Warrior Project, Military Warriors Support
Foundation, Coming Home Project, and Operation Second Chance etc.
Documentaries and films, which are shown in theatres and in film
festivals, receive better network leasing contracts as well as
greater DVD/download sales. In addition, the expenses connected to
fund raising events would be considered a donation to the non-profit
group and thereby they will be tax deductible.
The
package would cost approximately the same as one national ad.
However, we have broken the time into five segments the three 30
second bumpers and the two the 10 second billboards to make it
affordable to smaller companies.
To learn more about our team, please go to our
website at
http://cproduction5.wix.com/cosmos-productions-#!page3/cee5. If you
would like to know more what we are offering sponsors and investors
please contact Theresa Chaze at 231-943-3298.

Healing the Wounds of War
Horses and Heroes focuses on the human element It gives an alternative option, which can heal the whole person instead of just focusing on symptoms. It is a non addictive way to get their lives back. Horses and Heroes fills a void and need, because it helps those grappling with situations brought into their lives due to traumatic events find new ways to cope with them. It puts emotions back into documentaries and will leave the audience with alternative answers to their physical and emotional challenges.
This is a short pitch presentation. Horses and Heroes will be full length documentary. To learn more please visit our site at http://cproduction5.wix.com/cosmos-productions-

Operation Home Base: A Family of Man Drama of Forgiveness and Second Chances
Operation
Home Base
We've
got your back.
Theresa Chaze
One of The Red Cross’s functions is
passing messages to and from military personnel. However, they are
limited to the passive role of sharing information. What if there
was an organization that could do more? Facing their own demons,
veterans and civilians come together to actively make a difference
with legal, medical and logistics help for military personnel,
veterans and their dependents? Their motto is “we've got your
back.”. What if in their dedication to help, the founders of
Operation Home Base stumbled upon an international cover up, which
puts a target on their own backs? Do they shrink away in fear or do
they damn the torpedoes and face the challenge with a Gung-Ho
mentality?
A medic in Nam, Martin Flying Crow
returned home only to find the war followed him. By helping others,
he was able to quiet the ghosts in his head. He gained national
attention and the friendship of retired Lieutenant Colonel Elaine
Reynolds after he talked a Marine out of committing suicide.
Together they pulled enough resources together to achieve a
non-profit status and were able to move Operation Home Base from
Martin's garage into a small office building.
The organization once again gained
national attention when they used their connections both in and out
of the military to investigate the disappearance of PFC Hank Bogley
and his squad. When they start to unravel the lies and
misinformation, they suddenly become the targets of a national smear
campaign. Although their personal and professional motives are
brought into question, the board refuses to back down.
Unable to deter them, their lead
detractor, Valhalla does an about face and offers to support them
with endless financial, political, and logistic support. There is
one catch. Operation Home Base must accept their representative as
the new head of their organization. Valhalla chooses a man who knows
Martin's secrets. He knows because the same ghosts haunt him. Is
he the distraction to keep Martin busy, while they use the money,
influence and access to classified information to destroy Operation
Home Base from the inside out?
Operation Home Base combines MASH and
The Waltons with NCIS to create a family of man drama about
forgiveness and second chances. From the senseless murder of a
therapy dog to two teens stealing a tank to a Native American's
family having to fight for their loved one's last wishes to be
honored, Operation Home Base intertwines real life situations with a
fictional international conspiracy. From World War II to the current
conflict, the stories will show military personnel and veterans as
real people, not just disposable parts of the war machine. Its
tagline is helping others heals our own wounds.

The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conditions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own.

Help for Wounded Warriors

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes is hosting Founder and spokes person for Wings for Warriors Anthony (Doc) Ameen on March 1 at 1 pm eastern. We will be talking the needs and challenges of wounded warriors.
Proudly served as an U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman for 8 years as a non commissioned officer with a vast experience in a variety of lifesaving medical techniques and specialties including emergency medicine, women's health, and advanced combat surgical techniques. He performed his duty under severe time constraints and in hostile conditions. His excellent networking, communication and public speaking abilities gave him the ability to help veteran outreach programs and the wounded warrior community.
Wings for Warrior’s mission is to provide necessary tools, insights and resources for wounded veterans as they go through the recovery process and transition into new realities. Among the services and activities we support include:
Guidance and counseling in dealing with military and government entities to secure healthcare, financial and legal benefits.
Financial assistance for immediate family members traveling to visit wounded loved ones located at military and hospital facilities around the nation.
Public awareness events and programs to highlight the unique challenges our wounded warriors face and to ensure that they receive strong community support.

An Open Letter to Military and Veteran's Organizations

A Message to Veterans Organizations
Over the past few months, I have contacted many veterans organization to gain their support for my new military series, Operation Home Base. Although they liked the premise and the entertainment value of OHB, most felt that the conspiracy would reflect badly on their organization and the military in general. I am writing this open letter to them clarify my intentions and goals.
Operation Home Base is not a documentary or a reality show. A documentary couldn’t possibly tell the heart stories of those who serve. They are great at giving facts and information, but it takes time for the viewer to see beyond the surface and to care about the characters. When Henry Blake died on MASH, everyone mourned his loss much more than the soldiers that came through the 4077 as patients. It was not that the viewers didn’t care about the soldiers, they just got to know and love Henry. The members of Operation Home Base--Deek, Martin, Walter, Randi, Elaine and the rest will be the continuity that the audience will be able to relate to as family members, friends or the person they see in the mirror; because of that simple fact, they will care about what happens to them just a little more. And like with Henry, when one of them is injured, it will affect them on a deeper level. Although OHB will be dealing with real issues and situations, it is not a Reality Show. Reality shows have very little to do with reality; I see them as exploitive of people and situations. OHB is a scripted show that is first and foremost about people and the human condition. I know where the show is going and how I’m going to get it there.
Although the conspiracy and the characters of OHB organization are fictional, the stories they will be dealing with are based on real life situations. Unless a vet or active duty military personnel does something really naughty, their stories don’t make the front page. Although I will also be using some of those, most vets and military stories don’t make the news at all and if they do, it’s somewhere on the back pages. In real life, a Marine’s therapy dog was killed, family members did get their letters back marked “Returned to sender. Deceased, family homes are being illegally foreclosed; it has all happened and so much more. OHB will call attention to these kinds of stories.
I will also be using history. WWII, Korea, and Vietnam--they all have stories that need to be told. Some of them won’t be so nice to hear. But the healing has to start somewhere. So many vets came back and just buried what happened. But no matter how deeply they dug or how much denial they dumped on top of it, those experiences don’t just disappear or heal themselves. I would like to help the healing process by lancing those boils. In order for there to be healing, there has to be forgiveness not only of others, but the vets need to forgive themselves. War brings out the ugliness in life and in people. When you live on the edge, sometimes pieces of the soul get cut off. It is time for those pieces to come back so that they can become whole again.
The conspiracy is the hook to get people to come back week to week. I’m very old school. Not only will the characters have personalities, but the actors who portray them will have the maturity to understand the times, the people and why the healing process sometimes takes time. Until you have lived a little life, there is no way you can bring that kind of wisdom to the table. But OHB is swimming in the deep end of the pool. The characters have issues. They are damaged on many levels, but in spite of all their pain, they still are willing to help others heal even if they can’t help themselves. No matter how talented the actor, a twenty-something doesn’t have the chops or experience to be credible. So many of the new shows are what I call chip beef--chippies in bikinis and beef cake; they look good but the characters aren’t written with depth and the stories are only excuses to show off bare skin.
I’m also a big fan of cliffhangers. Every episode and each season will end with one. The end of the first season will make who shot JR seem tame with more than one question left hanging. It is combination of caring about the characters and this tension that will not only keep the viewers coming back, but it will make it a must see hit.
Several of the representatives that I talked to were afraid that the show would spill over on to their organization. I hope it will. The more people understand the need, the more likely they are to help the organizations who step up to the plate. The episode about the therapy dog’s death will lead to a fundraiser on the show that could be carried over into real life. It will also raise awareness of how therapy dogs help those with PTSD, which in turn will help those who need dogs get them and homeless dogs find homes. It is a win-win situation. Another storyline will talk about how military families can’t make financial ends meet; it is a situation that civilian families are also unfortunately challenged with. OHB will inspire both to think outside the box to find solutions. But more importantly, OHB shows the brother and sisterhood of the those who serve. When push come to shove, all branches of service and their family members circle the wagons to protect their own during times of hardship and loss. I want to show that.
Operation Home Base will not only be great entertainment, but it will also share the stories and challenges of what it means to live and love military.
The proposal and the demographics can be read on my site at www.theresachaze.com. However to read the pilot and the first season Bible, you will need to email me from my site.
