Do you believe in karma?

Alyssa learns there is a reason that birth wipes away the memories of the past from the conscious mind. When a chance meeting opens a karmic door, she must quickly find a way to remember before the hatred from another time once again cause her tragic end.

Nict for Ure Selfe (Not for Ourselves): a magical fantasy novel from Theresa Chaze on Vimeo.

Have you ever met someone and suddenly felt love or hate? Did you wonder why? What if you had forgotten the reason? Would you want to remember if it could save you life?

Elizabeth was asked by her mentor to teach a writing course at a small college. Since she never forgets a kindness, she reluctantly agrees. Arriving in town, she instantly regrets her decision. She wants to run, but she is honor bound to stay. Even as the ghost of a small child begs her to forgive, the memories of another time arouse feelings of hatred that she doesn't understand and cannot control. When she meets Shane, all of their lives are thrown onto a dangerous collision course from which they can neither run, nor can they hide. The question is, "Can they overcome their tragic past or will they be doomed to repeat it?"

Love can be a blessing or the curse that destroys a town.

Days of our Lives: Thank you for not hiring me

A few years ago, I wrote alternative storylines for Days of Our Lives and posted them on the NBC fan boards.  I was just being snarky, because the writing was so bad.  It was only suppose to be a one or two time deal. However, it turned into so much more.  Suddenly, there were people from around the world, loving what I wrote and wanting to read more.   Many promoted me the show's producers as a replacement for the head writer.  I did clean up the scripts and contacted them.  Luckily, they said a resounding "No!"  If they hadn't, I would be back writing and producing my own work.  So I am very grateful for the show's horrible writing and being turned down.  If they hadn't I would be in this amazing place in my life.

Nearly all the of the previous links to the Days' script no longer work.  Below is most of what I wrote.  However, please be aware that it is not in submission format.  There are typos and many mistakes.  I'm just sharing it for those who might be interested.

Here are links to my current projects.

Karmic Justice

"Nict For Ure Selfe." (Not For Ourselves)

Theresa Chaze

Chapter One

Alyssa struck the match.  Instantly, the end burst into flame.  She held it to the wick of the white candle until it ignited.  Pinching off the match head, she placed on the table. Taking a deep breath, she flipped her long chestnut color braid back over her shoulder; it bounced and swung around her waist. Focusing on her intent, she started the ritual. "Goddesses--Maiden, Mother, Crone I call to thee and ask that you appear to me."
Picking up the candle, she held it above the surface of the water.  Its glow illuminated just beyond the rim of the black bowl and reflected off the clear surface.  "On this darkest of night, grant me the portal to make things right.  Let me see clearly the moments of the past, so that I may understand what is happening at last."
Tapping the edge with the candlestick, the glass on glass echoed throughout the dark
room. The vibration rippled through the water.  "As I created a wave in the glass, so I ask you help me with my task."
She set the candlestick next to the bowl and placed her hands on either side palms down.  "Let me see where his hatred of me had begun, so that his vengeance can be undone.  Why he stalks me I know not why, yet I know the answer lies in times gone by.  Take me back to the time and place, so that I may end the conflict with haste and grace."
Picking up the four raven feathers, she held them above the candle.  "Goddesses of the raven and night, who left these feathers as a symbol of your might.  I call you now to come me, to create a justice that even the blind may see.  I call your forth to this land to guide the karmic hand.  For those who have done harm to me, let their reckoning begin now--so mote it be."
Placing the feathers equal distance around the bowl, Alyssa paused for a moment to let their energy settle around her. Stretching her neck side to side, she took a deep breath and allowed her Priestess training to relax her body into a meditative state.  The outer world fell away as she sank deeper within herself and started climbing the stairs to her own soul.  Into the darkness, the staircase spiraled upward, until she reached the iridescent platform where her Akashic record was held.
Suspended in the darkness of endless time, Alyssa looked for a guide to help her.  But she was alone.  In the past, there had always been someone there to act as a guide to help her face the challenge. Uncertain, she stepped up to the pedestal.  If she was to atone for a past error, she would be give direction.  However, if she was merely a player as another strutted and fretted through a karmic lesson, then she could do little more than watch.
The book lay open before her.  On it, fate continued to write. "Book of all my lives, show me karmic tie that echoes into this life."  The pages flipped, stopping twice before it came to rest on the life named Shannon Marie Cullen.
The image of an auburn haired young woman lifted up off the page and hovered above. Her heart shaped face still had the softness of youth.  Yet the hazel eyes sparkled with old wisdom.  She wore her hair pulled back into a long, single braid.   Although she seemed familiar, Alyssa felt no emotional connection to her.  There was no bond or sense of being between them.  Only a faint familiarity like a tune whose melody echoes in the back of your mind, yet you cannot remember the words or the context in which you heard it.

She reached out to touch the image; it reached back.  Yet before their fingertips touched, Shannon Marie vanished only to be replaced by a three dimensional screening of wooded forest.  Rich and lush it sported multiple shades of green, tans and browns as the forest became fields and forest once again.

As her perspective changed, Alyssa felt herself zooming to focus on the scene that was most important.  Yet it was more than just pictures and sounds.  The smell of the fields and rushing of the river below sparked memories and long sleeping emotions.

No matter where her life led her, she could never find the safe sense of home. Fear always kept her from letting her roots grow too deep.  She had never understood. Her childhood was no better or worse than anyone else's.  Yet as her spirit drew closer, the familiarity once again made her crave the comfort of home.

Through breaks in the leaves, she saw two girls running quickly.  She knew who they were, yet she didn't feel connected.  Instead, like a moderated film, she watched them from above.  Instead recalling her own memories, the information flowed to her in unspoken words and images as if someone was narrating their story to catch her up with the story.
Shannon Marie ran breathlessly up the glen, quickly followed by her younger sister, Rachael.  Although a year and two months younger, Rachael looked more like Shannon Marie's twin.
Both girls favored their Scottish heritage with their flaming hair and outspoken temperaments.  Their two older sisters, Elizabeth Marie and Katherine Anne favored their mother's French heritage both physically and in temperament.  Fair-haired beauties they openly used their feminine assets to manipulate others to get what they wanted.
The plain spoken mannerism of the patriarch of the family along with his two youngest daughters frequently came into conflict with the matriarch and the eldest sisters' elitism as they boasted of their unclaimable link to the French throne.   They refused to see that no matter which man laid down with the mother, the child could lay no claim to parentage unless they were acknowledged by both the father and family. Jacqueline Marie Katherine de Medici may have lay with the King of France, but the daughter they created was conceived above the sheets--not beneath them.  Jacqueline refused to be silenced at court about the parentage of her growing child within her.  It was the reason Marie marked her for death. But instead of a curse on mother and unborn child, the midnight escaped to Scotland became a blessing as the people’s revolution sought out the privileged nobles.
In the highlands, Abigail Marie Katherine de Medici was born without a father; the fortune and power of the de Medici family hid the stain, but was never washed away.  Having valuable connections in the English and Italian courts, Jacqueline was received as her family station required.  Eventually she attained a small estate and fitted herself into the region.

Leaving Veterans Behind

Horses and Heroes is a Reality TV series, which combines the highly effective peer support with Equine Therapy.  Each season will bring together eight veterans that will come from the broad veteran demographic. They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions.    When it airs, it will reach into the homes of the veterans, who need to hear that they are not alone, and give them the information they need to also heal.

These days, the emphasis has been on the veterans from the current conflicts; however, many of those from previous wars never had a chance to work through that they experienced.  They pigeonholed their lives and tried to leave their pain behind.  But now that they are reaching an age when they are starting to review their lives, that is no longer so easy to do.  For this reason, Horses and Heroes will not only attract the prized 18-35-year-old demographic, but also those who served in the Vietnam, Korean, and WWII.

While in service no brother or sister in arms behind.   Although most of the attention and support has been focused on the veterans from the current conflicts, many from the previous conflicts never receive the help and support they needed to heal through their physical and emotional pain.  Horses and Heroes will be bringing veterans of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and both genders together.  It’s never too late to heal and come back to the world.  Transportation, housing, food, and therapy as well as a small stipend for the eight veterans in the program will cost $3,500.00 for each.  We are asking for the support of individuals and organizations to help us with these costs.

Advertising is a necessary part of every successful business venture.  It not only makes the customers aware of the products available, but it also gives brand recognition. We are looking for corporate sponsorship to cross brand with Horses and Heroes.   Sponsoring Horses and Heroes through cross-branding will create positive PR in a cost effective manner, while setting an industry standard for social responsibility.  We are offering an updated version of cross-branding Mutual of Omaha did with its sponsorship of The Wild Kingdom.  In doing so, we will be combining old school with today’s promotional techniques to create a whole new marketing tool.

Supporting Horses and Heroes helps to make sure no veteran no veteran is left behind.  Please join our team by sponsoring a veteran or by cross branding with Horses and Heroes.  There are also investment opportunities still available.

Horses and Heroes: Peer Support Saves Lives

Horses and Heroes is a reality TV series, which promotes healing rather than bad behavior. Although Equine Therapy will be the stage, the focus will remain on the veterans and how their lives as well as those of their families were changed by the physical and emotional challenges brought into their lives by war.

Veterans supporting veterans has always been more effective than working with civilian therapists. They have been there and done that, which is why they know when to cut slack and when to call the other on the BS.

Each season, Horses and Heroes will bring together eight veterans, who want to reclaim their lives from their physical and emotional challenges. They will support each other as they work with the horses and tell their stories.

Veterans can't go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from now and make a brand new end. Together they will give each other the strength and courage they need to change their directions of their lives toward the new end.

VA Whistle Blower: Was it worth it?

Bobby Kilgore, the co-host of Horses and Heroes, interviewed Jeannette Taper on the Internet radio show, Until you walk the path, You don't know where it goes. They talked about her experiences working at the VA as well as sharing her reasons for becoming a whistle blower. Towards the end of the show, there is contact information for the VA, including Robert McDonald, the VA, and the news networks.

Horses and Heroes combines the concepts a talk show with that of a documentary, by intertwining the spontaneity of a talk show with the scripted informational aspects of a documentary. It will utilize both interviews and practical demonstrations of horse therapy to give the audience a full understanding of how and why working with the horses help veterans heal. Although Equine Therapy will be the stage, the primary focus will be on the eight veterans as they sharing what they experienced while they served our country and how those events had a lasting effect on their lives as well as on those who love them.

Horses and Heroes is not about pointing fingers or creating a political firestorm. It is a documentary series, which will help military personnel and veterans find a new way to cope with the physical and emotional challenges brought into their lives by war. Equine Therapy does not involve drugs nor lying on a couch and spilling their guts to a therapist. What it does do is help them find new ways to see and react to their emotional triggers. It helps their bodies remember how it used to work. It can't replace what was lost, but it can give them the confidence to see that they are more than the sum of their body parts. Horses and Heroes will give veterans and military personnel the information they need to find alternative healing solutions, which can help lower the suicide rate.

How can Veterans rebuild their lives?

All veterans' lives matter from Theresa Chaze on Vimeo.

A chance meeting created Horses and Heroes.  I met an elderly gentleman in the Borders café.  He was wearing a hat that identified him as a veteran.  I thanked him for his service and we started chatting about his experiences in WW II.  At the time, I was mentally taking notes for a scripted series I was writing called, Operation Home Base; however, our conversation showed me that I had the means to help in a very meaningful way.

His name was William Greene.  Decades later, he still hadn’t come to terms with his guilt and regret.  He survived, but his many of buddies didn’t.  He killed good men just because of where they happen to be born.  Through him, I connected the dots between Operation Home Base and another project, which lead to the creation of Horses and Heroes.

It is easy to get political and throw verbal rock at individuals and agencies.  But what good does it really do?  Pointing out the problem doesn’t create solutions.  Everyone knows what needs to be done.  But many people are too busy pointing fingers to actually find answers.

Horses and Heroes is my solution.  It is a Realty TV series that focuses on healing rather than glorifying bad behavior.  Working with the horses helps veterans find new ways to cope with their physical and emotional challenges.  Telling their stories in a safe, supportive environment gives them the means to face their ghosts head on.   Horses and Heroes can’t get them back what they lost.  War took that person. Yet it doesn’t have to be the end of their story.  One of my favorite sayings is, “You can’t go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.”  Horses and Heroes will help veterans find the strength and courage within themselves to rebuild their lives and create that brand new end.

Everyone serves in the own way.  Although, I don’t have the temperament for the military, I greatly respect those who stand the wall.  I choose use my talents to help veterans tell their stories in such a way that they will heal themselves and show others that healing is possible.

Equine Therapy does not involve drugs nor lying on a couch and spilling their guts to a therapist. What it does do is help them find new ways to see and react to their emotional triggers. It helps their bodies remember how it used to work. It can't replace what was lost, but it can give them the confidence to see that they are more than the sum of their body parts and life experiences. VA Whistleblower speaks out

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes will be chatting with veteran and VA whistle blower, Jeannette Taper on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1 pm eastern.

Jeannette Taper has 30 years of combined military service. Like many other service members, she has experienced traumatic events that changed her life forever. The first was a simple back surgery between the T8-T9 that went wrong and she left the hospital in a wheel chair. The second event happened during her recovery from surgery, when she was sexual assaulted. That was the beginning of my journey to heal through hell. She was recruited by the VA to as a Peer Support Specialist. She was assigned to the Cheyenne Medical Center. She learned that of “Ethical Boundaries in the Patient-Clinician Relationships “ had very little meaning to other members of the staff.

Tune into http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theresachaze on Wednesday November 11, 1 pm eastern to be learn more of the details of what happens to those who speak the truth about the VA . The phone lines and chat will be available for those who wish to ask questions. The phone number is (347) 838-9927.

The interview will be available in the archives at

Patriotism for Profit

November 11 is a day to honor those who have served our nation during peace time as well as war. However, it has been corrupted by those who put profits over people by turning it into another marketing tool.

To learn more how you can help veterans find new coping skills for their physical and emotional challenges visit Horses and Heroes' website

Horses and Heroes is not about pointing fingers or creating a political firestorm. It can’t fix the system nor will is a cure all. What it will do is show that there are alternatives, which more effectively help military personnel and veterans to heal their way home. They can't go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from the now and make a brand new end. We want veterans and military personnel to know that we have their back.
