WHAT READERS ARE SAYING ABOUT SECRET LIVES

In her latest novel, Secret Lives explores woman’s journey through time, culture, sexism, spirituality, aging, and even death. With artful skill and meticulous Neolithic detail, Ardinger’s characters across time show that the ancient feminine journey isn't that different from the modern one.
—HUFFINGTON POST

It is a rare author that can create characters that are so memorable that you hate to see the book end; characters that live on inside your head and your heart; characters that you can actually learn from…. Barbara Ardinger is one such author and her newest offering, Secret Lives, is one such memorable book. Like, Terry Pratchett, Ms. Ardinger has a gift for creating lovable and eccentric crackpot personalities that live on long after you've finished reading the book. The pages of Secret Lives are peopled with a circle of little old ladies who are Witchy eccentrics reeking mischief on those who deserve it. … If you are an older woman you MUST read this book and consider it as a great instruction manual for becoming an outrageous old lady. In fact, if you are human you should read this book. If you aren't human you should still read it because you'll still thoroughly enjoy the read. This is a great book to lift your spirits in these trying times.
—GREEN EGG ONLINE and AMAZON.COM

Author and goddess-worshipper Barbara Ardinger celebrated the publishing of her eighth book, Secret Lives, last month. The novel depicts witches as real women with real-world issues; what’s unique is that those women are endowed with magical powers….
—LONG BEACH GAZETTES

What a remarkable novel this is! … Though it is at times extremely humorous, Secret Lives isn’t a light “fluffy bunny” type novel. Its themes are serious; some passages are grim, strong, written with appropriate toughness. Its character description, use of symbolism, and other authorly techniques, including comedy, are dexterously done.
—Judith Laura, MEDUSA COILS

It is a true gift when the reading public receives a book with wit, charm, and adventure all wrapped up in a plot that speaks volumes about friendship, the twilight years of your life, the power of women, and the way this world looks at its senior citizens—the most powerful guides on the planet who are being treated unforgivably.
—FEATHEREDQUILL.COM and AMAZON.COM

Secret Lives is a collection of short stories, woven together to form a larger, overarching narrative. That makes it a great bedside table book; it’s possible to pick it up, reach a chapter, set it down, and go to sleep—or, as happens as things begin to escalate, one can read on and on without feeling the lurching stop/start that often results from reading a collection of short stories.
—AMAZON.COM
The women in Secret Lives became like family to me, and I’ll miss reading about them and their antics. I hope when I’m their age I’ll be as active and can work with a wonderful group of Crones. This is a book for all women. It reminds us life doesn’t end when we become Crones. It just gets better!
—GLOBAL GODDESS ORACLE

[Barbara Ardinger] presents a massive spectrum of themes and issues that impact a coven whose members include a Rainbow Coalition of ages, colors, professions, backgrounds, and sexual preferences. The storyline threads are spun as social and community issues are juxtaposed with personal and spiritual concerns. Chapters resemble sequential episodes in a top-notch television series… [and] small interpersonal storylines act as a counterpoint to overarching group storylines and themes. The challenges faced by the elderly are central to the book’s overall plot, but are by no means exclusive.
—FACING NORTH and AMAZON.COM

This is not a light novel, although it has plenty of wit. In her beautiful prose, Barbara Ardinger tells a magical story of wisdom, both ancient and modern, celebrating life, death (and beyond), and the life phases in between, from menarche to menopause.
—Miriam Robbins Dexter,
Editor of The Living Goddesses by Marija Gimbutas

Secret Lives is a totally wonder-filled, thought provoking, moving, fun ride…. Get this book! Give it! Read it! You’ll love it! You won't want to keep it a secret!
—ROSWILA’S TAROT GALLERY & JOURNAL

Night after night I savored Barbara Ardinger’s newly-released novel as a comfort and a treat. The women of the circle welcomed me in as I shared their concerns, their joys, their friendships, and their wild and practical magic. Full of wit and warmth, deftly explores a host of timeless and timely issues and in particular gives us an original and compassionate view of older women.
—Elizabeth Cunningham, MAEVE & ELIZABETH

I keep a small shelf of novels I know I’ll want to read again when I want to be entertained, inspired, or sometimes just for comfort when stuck indoors. Among others on that shelf are and There’s so much to like here! Many of our heroines are old, but the word “feeble” never comes to mind; these are powerful women, with incredible resources and friendships. It’s an inspiration to read.

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of July 5-11, 2009

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of July 5-11, 2009
By
Theresa Chaze

The week of July 5-11 many will find themselves placing unreasonable demands on themselves and others. As the summer heats up, so will tempers have a tenancy to flare. The incoming energy will cause our thoughts and our attention to become chaotic and scattered as we attempt to reconcile the past, present and future. Healing the past will create new possibilities in the future; however, it will be building the bridge between the two in the present that will be the challenge.

The energy from the past is represented by the six of swords. The old behaviors, beliefs and energy is being released or transmuted into positive healing blessings. Although letting go and allowing change to happen can be very scary, it has been never as important as it is now. Change doesn’t mean an end, but new opportunities and beginnings. Those who stubbornly hang on to what is familiar but no longer beneficial will be only causing themselves more pain and fear than is necessary. Abundance on all levels is freely provided for those who are open to receive it; it’s just that sometimes it arrives in unexpected ways.

The nine of swords represents the energy of the week. It warns that we will be challenged to have courage and faith. Both are easy to have when times are good; the tests will be to keep the positive outlook when the future is not so bright. This week will be filled with sorrow and loss along with all that comes with it. For those who chose to focus on the blessings, miracles will appear. For those who choose otherwise, they will create what they fear. Like Dorothy clicking her heels together, we all have the choice to where this week will lead us.

Out of this week we will take the nine of wands. Holding on to faith and hope will help us maintain control over our own destinies. We do have the strength and knowledge if we choose to use it. The question will be how many will choose to take back their own power? Holding on to tightly to those we love or our resources, will only cause us to loose them. Yet if we have trust and faith, in ourselves and others, what is truly ours will freely stay or return. That which moves on does so as a way of making room for the healthier new beginnings.

We will all be challenged with the page of cups. It is a card of new people, fresh beginnings, and novel experiences. It is a card of births and rebirths as each of us find new paths to follow. The challenge will be to let go of the tried and true, in favor of the undiscovered country known as Change. Sometimes taking a wild chance and being a little less responsible will take you to and where your heart desires to be.

Tarot Energy Reading for the Week of June 21-27, 2009

Tarot Energy Reading for the Week of June 21-27

The combining energies of the Solstice and the New Moon have created chaos in most people’s lives. The feeling of being out of control has brought up old fears and trust issues. It’s is not a lack of faith that has cause us to doubt ourselves, others and our perceptions of both, but the heightening of all our senses, including the ones connected to our spiritual gifts. Even those who have been spiritually and emotionally balanced find that they are reeling from the increasing energy waves. However, it is this influx of energy that will give us the motivation and ability to make the needed changes in our lives. The challenge will be to stay sane, balanced and positive while we are being upgraded from the inside out.

The energy we bring in from the past is the ace of wands. This card represents new business, work or ways of doing both. The economic challenges can be seen as punishments or blessing, depending on your point of view. Those who choose to think outside the box will find new opportunities to change the life by improving their skills or changing their path all together. It is energy of new beginnings and expanding what already exists. It is a time to be open to connecting with others to share information and resources. A blessing shared is a miracle earned.

The four of cups represents the energy of this week. Dissatisfaction or disappointment will make us to want craw back into our caves to wait until it is all over. However, this is the very last thing we should do. Instead of hiding in the dark, we need to seek the sun and the company of others. Running and hiding will only cause us to see what we lack. However, if we have the courage to be open, we can find new possibilities for both ourselves and others.

The energy we take from this week is represented by the three of swords. Sadness and separation will prevail as fear of change will cause clashes within families. Tears could be shed. Angry words could be spoken. True feelings and needs will be revealed as we are forced to face ourselves and our true feelings. No longer will we be able to hide behind polite conversations and half spoken truths. Feelings that we had have buried will continue to dig their way back to the surface. However, this time we will not be able to ignore or dismiss them. The harder we try to run from our inner needs and desires, the more power we will give them to disrupt our lives.

The energy challenge we will all face is the ace of cups. We will be challenged to accept love, joy and happiness from the inside out. Although we can share our happiness with others, we can only find contentment from within. The challenge will be for us to change our focus from being fulfilled through others to that of healing from within. When we build our happiness from the inside out, not only does it make us more stable, but it also gives us something to share with others, thereby being a blessing for all. It is also a time of new beginnings and possibilities for those who are open to them. When we share our love freely with an open hand, we create miracles for ourselves and others.

It gives readers open-ended instructions on spilling their guts in the safety of a private journal and offers two hundred sentence starts to help them begin writing. Living Spirit, by Lynn Andrews

Living Spirit, by Lynn Andrews

“We were all born wild like a mountain lion. To live in civilization we become sheep at a very young age. We become tame. But we are not house pets. We are fierce and wild by nature.”

Many years ago, very early in my work with the Sisterhood of the Shields, Twin Dreamers, one of my shaman teachers said to me, “Lynn, dream on these words. Consider what is left of your instinctual nature. When you see a horse, you become both happy and sad. That horse represents the wildness within yourself that you have never dared to become.”

I was stunned by her words, for they revealed an essential truth in my search for a higher understanding of life that I had never dared to voice.

I had known since I was a small child that there was something missing from my world, something that I yearned for with every fiber of my being yet could not begin to understand. I have even ridden horses all my life, racing across the landscape of my childhood with my best friend, Beverly, a Native American girl the same age as I. On horseback, we followed the clouds, pretending we were stars in the sky as we chased each other across the universe. During those long, beautiful days, I felt more complete and perfect within myself than at any other time.

As an adult, galloping across the plains on the back of a magnificent Arabian mare, I still get that same sense of perfection. Yet until Twin Dreamers spoke those words to me, I did not equate the feeling of perfect completion within me when I am on horseback as the fulfillment of my wild, instinctual nature. I only knew that when I ride horses, I feel closer to God than at any other time.

How do you experience God in your life, the Great Spirit, the presence of divine harmony in whatever form you know it? For me, I know that I am one with the Great Spirit when I am living my own truth. That happens when I stand in the center of my own being. It happens when I stand in the center of my own personal truth and not what someone else tells me the ‘truth’ of any given situation should be.

How often have you heard someone say, “This is the way it’s supposed to be (whatever ‘it’ is). It’s the way it always has been and the way it always will be?” And every fiber of your being is crying out, “No it isn’t. You’re wrong. Nothing could be further from the truth.” Yet not only do you say nothing, which is sometimes the only thing you can say in the face of such adamance, you decide there must be something wrong with you for disagreeing so completely. The more strongly you disagree, perhaps, the worse you feel about yourself until you walk away feeling wholly defeated, hobbled by some unseen force that obviously wishes you nothing but ill will.

That is the way it feels when we deny the existence of our own personal truth. It feels worse than the worst insult anyone else can hurl, crippling to the point of total personal defeat.

On the other hand, it feels so exhilarating when you say to yourself, “You know what? I couldn’t disagree with you more. Maybe I can’t change the way you think, and maybe now’s not even the time to try. But I couldn’t disagree with you more, and I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to think what you think; I’m not going to believe what you believe. It may be your truth, but it’s not mine and it’s no part of me.” And you walk away feeling so good about yourself, so personally empowered, so completely right with life.

That is the way it feels to stand in the center of your own personal truth. The most wonderful part of it is that your own personal truth resides at the very center of your being, and that is the place where you are one with the Great Spirit and all that is in the universe. What a fabulous place to be!

The truth is within your own heart and within your own soul. Whenever you become lonely or afraid, all the answers you will ever need will be found within yourself. Sometimes we need other people to help us find those answers, and that is good. It’s good to see the light of the Great Spirit reflected in the love and wisdom of others. But you must always measure what you find out in the world with what you find inside yourself. You must first ask yourself, “Am I being faithful to my own truth?”

Your being is like a spirit lodge. Within this spirit lodge dwell the sacredness of your being, your realization and the divine light of your creation. Sometimes your sacredness matches what everyone around you is saying, and sometimes it doesn’t. You find peace and joy in life when you live in your own spirit lodge, the place within you where you are one with the Great Spirit and all of life, the place of your own sacred truth, regardless of the chaos that might be going on around you. This is what I mean by ‘living spirit,’ it is living in your own spirit lodge.

Have you ever wondered why some people can be so serene in the midst of what everyone else sees as impending doom? It is because they are living in their own spirit lodges; they know they are one with the Great Spirit and all of life, and no matter what happens nothing can ever separate them from that Oneness. They have taken care of what is around them to the best of their ability and placed their faith in the Great Spirit.

In the words of Shakespeare, “This above all: To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, Thou cannot then be false to any man.” Outside your lodge is a great wilderness that can often become a battleground stained with ignorance and earthly pain. Many people live without a sacred place within, and those who do not have a sacred place within do not know how to enter the spirit lodges of others. To me, that is the definition of true loneliness, not being able to enter the spirit lodge of another person.

When you live your own truth, you find that it is much easier to allow others the honor of living their own truth, as well. Even where you disagree, it is not important. What becomes important is honoring the divine light within you both. This is the true meaning of freedom, when you are not shackled to an existence that is based on beliefs that are false to you. When you are living spirit, you are living your own sacred truth. Then you are as magnificent horse, wild and free through your oneness with the divine light of the universe, unfettered by beliefs that bring you only discomfort and disharmony with your own existence.

Tarot Energy Reading for June 7-13, 2009

Tarot Energy Reading for the Week of June 7-13, 2009

The watch word for the week of June 7-13 is one. One kind word. One selfless act. One prayer. One gift from the heart. All new beginnings start with the first step. This week these will be first steps. Giving and sharing from our heart will open the doors that have been previously close to us. They are the keys to unlocking what we have been seeking. They are the passwords to the miracles. When we unselfishly help others, we become both the giver and receiver of great gifts. The big blessings grow from small actions. In most cases, we will never know how our actions have positively influences others’ lives. But it doesn’t matter, for as we have anonymously helped others, so too do others assist us.

As I was shuffling the cards the six of swords popped out of the deck. For those who have had the courage to release their pain and allow the healing, the past is becoming the past as they move forward down new paths. Taking care of ones self is not being selfish. We are only able to heal ourselves; sometimes the best and loving way to help others is to allow them to face themselves. You cannot fix others. You cannot learn their lessons. The best you can do is pray for the best and highest good, while being a cheerleader.

From the past comes the eight of pentacle. It is teaching and learning energy that challenges you to reach higher and further than you thought possible. The more you challenge your old beliefs not only about yourself, but also the world, the more you will see the falsehoods you were taught. By being able to see these old tapes and behaviors, we will be able to free yourself from them and find your true self. It is the time to learn how to put the past at peace by gently closing the doors and evicting the negative people that have made themselves at home in your head--the ones who set the limitations on your self worth and goals. By revisiting them with a clear and object perspective, we are able to see and release them with love.

This week is represented by the Hermit. To find our true selves, we must look inward. It is only by finding our core that we are able to build a solid foundation for our lives. Lives, like homes that are built on sand, will not last. However, if you build a sturdy foundation on stable ground, the home will withstand no matter what storms brew. Many of us grew up with negative messages both from within and without the family. As long was we allow those messages to be our foundation, we cannot survive the life challenges and emotional storms we will encounter. Yet if we revisit the past and heal forward, we turn sand to stone and recreate ourselves from the inside out.

The energy we take out of this week is the seven of wands. We do have the strength and courage we need to keep moving forward; however, as contradictory as it may seem, in order to tap into this healing power, we must let go of how it will be presented. Releasing expectations and being open will unlock the blessing flood gates. The more we fight for control, the longer it will take for us to find what we need. Learn from the past. Plan for the future. Live in the present. Sometimes it takes living moment to moment. Miracles happen in their own time and only when we are truly ready to receive.

The energy challenge we will all face is the knight of wands. A card of sudden ending and new beginnings, it is a card of change. Only this change cannot be sought or hunted down. It must find us. Our actions and prayers we sent out in the past are now returning Like the ripples created by a stone being tossed in a pond will eventually radiate back, so are our deeds, beliefs and words coming home.

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of May 31-June 5, 2009

Energy Tarot Reading for May 31-June 6, 2009

With Mercury finally moving forward, many will be able to look back and understand why this time and challenges were so important to the future. As we cleared away the old debris, we made room for healing, hope and new possibilities to enter our lives. It has been a long time since many of us saw the light at the end of the tunnel. The wait and the work have been worth the effort and tears it took to get to the end so the new beginning could be found. The tears have washed away the fears; in doing so, we were able to find the yellow brick road to our personal Emerald City. We faced our wicked fears and found new friends only to learn that the ability to go home had always been within us.

The energy we bring in from the past is the six of swords. It is a card of release and healing. Many of the decisions of the past were at the time were made with the right intentions; however, as time past our heart told us that it longed for another path, yet we chose to remain on the journey. As the energy changes, many will find the strength and courage to choose another path. Instead of fulfilling others’ expectations or needs, we seek our own happiness. Living for others denies happiness for all. By being honest with ourselves and others, we open the doors for love and healing on all levels to enter our lives.

The energy of the week is represented by the six of wands. This six is a card of faith, hope and miracles. Blessings shared are miracles created. As we use our energy, time and wisdom creatively, we find ways to meet our needs and still be able to help others. This card warns us not to get bogged down in the negativity around us. Even in the most challenging times, there are opportunities for those who have the ability to see outside the box. When one part of the life ends, it automatically creates a new beginning, but only if you are able to release your expectations and be fully open to change.

The energy we take out of this week is the Queen of Pentacles. Pentacles represent energy in all its forms. Whether woman or man, this card represents creativity being reborn. Old talents are revisited; new ones are developed. This energy will give those who seek it additional facets to their personality the ability to reawaken karmic memories. Suddenly interests and goals will change as we see our lives through a broader spectrum. Self imposed limits will fall away as our memories of the past energize us from the inside out, giving us the courage to reach for our true heart’s desire.

The energy we will all be challenged with this week is the nine of cups. Also called the wish card, the nine warns us to be careful for what we wish for; we never know when our heart will be heard and which wish granted. This card is a blessing or curse depending on how honest you are with yourself. Many of us dream the dream others expect us to have, while denying ourselves what we truly desire. Still others stubbornly hold on to dreams past their time; they are familiar and comfortable, but no longer bring us happiness. When we wish upon a star, it doesn’t matter who you are as long as you wish from your heart and allow the Divine to make it come true.

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of May 17-23, 2009

Energy Tarot Reading for May 17-23
By
Theresa Chaze

With Mercury remaining retrograde until the end of the month, the week of May 17-23 will continue to be a time or reflection and reconsideration. Frequently we will find ourselves standing in the moment, looking backward toward the past and forward toward the future. From the past will come old unfinished lessons and challenges. However, what we see for our future will depend on how willing we are to learn from the past. Traveling the same path will take you to the same destination, yet those, who have the courage to learn from the past and release it, will find the strength to journey into the undiscovered country and find a new destiny. Letting go doesn’t mean surrendering. In fact it is just the opposite. Releasing beliefs, relationships and behaviors takes faith and trust. Change is inevitable. How well we accept the transformation is completely up to each of us. Those who seek to find love and happiness will find it when they choose to release the past and embrace the future.

The energy we bring in from the past is the five of wands. It is a time of testing of beliefs, boundaries and behaviors. We are being asked to challenge our ability to accept change and trust that the path will come up to meet our steps. People and situations will appear in our lives as tests on what ever lesson we had difficulty passing before. This will be a week of spiritual pop quizzes. Whether it be angry, trust, self love etc, we will find those buttons being pushed in the most unexpected ways. The harder we attempt to deflect or ignore this particular growth process, the more difficult the test will become. Sometimes the best thing we can do is let go of the wheel and move to the passenger seat, while the Divine drives us where we need to be.

The energy this week is represented by the World. It is a card of new beginnings and fresh possibilities. Those who are willing to see will be able to find what they seek; however, it might not be packaged or be found where they expect it to be. Miracles will be found on doorsteps, arrive by snail mail and through phone calls. Prayers have been heard and answered, but only for those who have the courage to challenge the status quo and bend the rules. Opening ourselves to others completes the blessing circuit. When we have the courage to share from our hearts, we become the miracles to others just as others become miracles for us.

The energy we will take out of this week is the Hanged Man. We will have opportunities for new perspectives of not only ourselves but the world around us. Although it will sometimes feel that our live are standing still, there are spiritual changes happening from both within and without. As each person ignites their inner glow, they become a beacon in the darkness, making it easier for us to see ourselves and each other for who we truly are. This inner light will also show us that the limits we thought were set in stone were merely illusions; like the fog at the coming of a new day, they dissipate, leaving us with a clearer sight of the path before us.

Tarot Energy Reading for April 26- May 1, 2009

Tarot Energy Reading for April 26-May 1, 2009
By
Theresa Chaze

Like the turbulent spring weather, the winds of change are blowing through our lives. The week of April 26-May 1 will be a time of transformation, revolution and new beginnings. The final spring festival and the time of planting, Beltane week will be a time of fertility, creativity and prosperity. It will give many additional reasons to celebrate. Passion will ignite new hope. Those who have chosen to ride the wave of positive energy by releasing the past fear and anger will find new possibilities in themselves and for others. Being courageous doesn’t mean you don’t feel fear, but that you choose to face it and survive it.

The energy that is coming into this week is the ace of wands. This card appeared in the same position last week as does the next card. The ace of wands represents new work or way of working. It is having the courage to walk a new path and seek a new destination. As the issues of the past are dealt with and old wounds healed, our vision clears to see new people, opportunities and fresh starts. There will be many opportunities to help others find the road less traveled, not with words but with deeds as we walk the walk ourselves.

Once again the eight of pentacles represents the current week. It is a reminder that some lessons take longer to learn or accomplish; however, they are well worth the effort. Although the immediate benefits may not be clear, in 20/20 hind sight all will be understood. The challenge is to trust and allow yourself to dream your dream. Just because you don’t see the way or manor it will manifest, doesn’t mean that it will not appear in your life in the proper way or time. This week doing your best will be enough if you allow the Divine to do the rest.

The energy we take out of this week is the knight of cups. Creative and practical/spiritual and mundane will come into conflict as those who are desperately trying to prevent change will say or do what ever is necessary to keep the status quo. Faith will be tested. Karmic ties will be highlighted as some will be severed, while others will become more secure. There will be high drama as the stage continues to be set for the cosmic transition. Sharing our hope, love and blessings doesn’t diminish us or what we have; in fact, it creates more abundance on all levels.

The energy challenge we will all face is the Queen of Swords. Like Lady Justice, this card represents the karmic scales within all of us. Some will receive bills that are past due; others will receive the long over due paychecks. What each of us receives will be determined by what is in our hearts. Sharing with strings is only disguised selfishness. Giving from the heart is what creates miracles for all.

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of April 19-25- 2009

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of April 19-25, 2009
By
Theresa Chaze

The week of April 19-25, 2009 will be a week of exploration and discovery. The more we find, the more we will seek. This will be true on many levels. No longer will our curiosity and need to know be held back by fear or convention. Instead as in the 1960’s, rebellion and non-conformity will herald the time of great change.

From the past, we find the ace of wands. It is a card of new business, job or ways of approaching both. With the current job market, many are looking for alternative means to achieving their goals and meeting their needs. Whether it be using their talents as a source of income or bartering good and services, they are thinking outside the box. In addition, the sharing of information and contacts is creating a network that is accelerating the ascension process on a spiritual level. Every time one person helps another just because they can, they ignite another candle to push back the darkness. Sharing blessings and selflessly helping is the fuel that will power the age of change.

The energy of the week is represented by the eight of pentacles. It is a time of learning and personal growth that will set the stage for the Awakening. As each person realizes how unique they are within themselves, they are more able to respect and honor the same qualities they see in others. Those who are willing to share their gifts and help others cultivate talents will find their efforts will be reciprocated. As each of us grows spiritually, the whole is enhanced.

The energy we will take out of this week is represented by the eight of swords. There will be confusion and frustration as individuals seek answers only to find none. As long as the masses focus on the negative, instead of seeing the possibilities for change and growth, it will be difficult to keep the whole ascending. Fear blocks hope, which forces some to make rash and irrational decisions. By giving into their mentality we limit our possibilities and cut short our own healing process. However, if we instead send them love and hope, while continuing on our own path, we not only move forward ourselves, but give them the opportunity to do the same.

The energy challenge we all share is the six of cups. We are looking to the past to find not only lost dreams, but we are also reconnecting with people, places and things that we left behind on our learning journey. As we metaphorically come back around to the beginning we have a discovered a more accurate ruler to our life’s progress. Hopes and dreams from the past that we thought were mere fantasies are becoming a reality. They are manifesting on the horizon, just not in the way we expected, but in the Divine’s own time and way.

Tarot Energy Reading for the Week of April12-18, 2009

Tarot Energy Reading for the Week of April12-18, 2009

The week of April 12-18 will be filled with surprises and upsets as many have the courage to release the past and embrace their future. No longer limited by mistakes or expectations of others, they follow their dreams only to realize they are more wonderful than they imaged. By releasing their fear, they allow themselves to journey down a new path, thereby reaching a new destination. Blessings will be only as great or small as the courage and openness that we have to receive them.

The energy we bring into the week is represented by the four of wands. Peace, harmony and satisfaction are the keywords of our lives as we leave the past behind. It is time to enjoy the fruits of our spiritual, emotional and physical labors. Those who did their work to the best of their ability, as situational as it was, shall be blessed with a fine harvest. However, those who clutched to the past like a life preserver in a storm will find themselves alone in the water, waiting for the rescue ship that will never come. Making room in our lives, through trust and love, opens the door for others to enter.

The six of swords represents the energy of this week. The dark clouds of fear, misunderstanding and deceit are blown away by the karmic winds of change. Relationships will end; new ones will begin. Healing will be offered to all. Those who have the courage to trust and accept will find peace. This is the beginning of a new cycle. However, whether it is pleasant or challenge will depend on each person’s point of view and ability to see into her or his own heart.

The Queen of Pentacles is the energy we will take out of this week. Creativity, hope and fresh perspectives are the possibility we will take with us. Stepping back from our past actions, beliefs and ideals will light the way to a new path. In doing so, we will find new possibilities and fresh insights into our own hearts. What we pray for is not always what our hearts desires. Sometimes the object is merely symbolic of a greater need or desire. By stepping back, we allow ourselves to see the bigger picture, which in turns allows us to see the smaller details of our deepest desires.

The challenge we will all face is the three of wands. A card of partnerships and cooperation, the three tells us there are three sides to every situation: mine, yours and ours. When we understand that the ours is an intersection of mine and yours, not only will we more clearly define our own boundaries, but dramatically increase the energy channeled into where our circles over lap in the “ours.” Trusting ourselves and each other empowers all, not only for healing on all levels, but also in creating miracles.

Waking Kundalini

Waking Kundalini
By
Theresa Chaze

What is Kundalini? By definition, it is a very important aspect of the ascension process. Staring at the base of the spine or first chakra, the energy spirals up through the other six chakras to the eighth or soul connector. The process can be a beautiful, loving experience. However, if not properly awakened, it can be life-shattering event, leading to death or mental and emotional instability. Kundalini is visualized as intertwining snakes, representing the feminine and masculine aspects of the individual, which climbs the spinal cord to connect all the chakras, including the eight, which is the direct connection to individual’s soul and the universe beyond. It is this balance that creates power and strength from the inside out.

Why would one take the risks of awakening Kundalini? It is a soul shaking, faith testing, dangerous experience, but it is also the purest connection to the unconditional love of the universe and the most direct path to the soul’s memory. It’s more than a power surge; it is the doorway to infinite amounts of love and wisdom

Before attempting to awaken the Kundalini force all seven of the chakras must be properly functioning and aligned with each other. They must be spinning in the correct direction and be at the proper vibrational level. This process cannot be forced. Each chakra contains its own lessons and challenges that must be met in the proper sequence. The aligning process is continual. As each chakra becomes stable, it must again be realigned with the others. This is a very simplistic description of a very complex process that usually takes years to complete.

Once your chakras have become healthy and stable, you may begin the process with a series of connections between energy points. The first step is to connect and balance the third eye to the Alta, which is the indentation at the bottom of the skull. This connection must be strong and self-maintaining before you move to the next step. By using healing methods, such as Reiki or Shen, place the fingertips from your sending hand on your third eye and the receiving fingers on your Alta. Starting slowly, send energy from your third eye to the Alta. When the energy flows freely, reverse your hands and send energy from your Alta to the third eye.

The pineal gland trine is the next step. The pineal gland is connected to the memory spheres in both hemispheres of the brain. The memory spheres are on a forty-five degree upward angle from the pineal gland in the center of each of the hemispheres. As with the first step, you create a balance, only this time is between three points. Starting with the pineal gland send energy to one of the memory spheres. When the energy flow is consistent and free flowing in both directions, you then repeat the process with the other hemisphere. The next step is to connect the two hemispheres with each other to complete the trine.

The third step is to connect the pineal gland with the third eye. If there is any pain or disorientation, stop the process. The connection between the third eye and the pineal gland should bring a sense of peace. If you have any other reaction, you are not ready to continue the Kundalini process. If you are wise, you will wait to begin until you are spiritually, emotionally, and physically more mature. If you are ready, the connections between the pineal gland, third eye and the memory spheres will awaken the Kundalini. However, you will not have the energy level to make it rise. By focusing healing energy on the base of your spine and the above mentioned points, you will strength and energize the energy snakes until they are capable of rising on their own. The sensations are individual. Some experience warmth, while others feel cold. It will travel up the spine connecting the chakras, through the Alta, pineal gland to the third eye, where it will loop backward to the crown and out to the eight chakra. It is at this point you will be connected to own your soul and the wisdom from all the past will open up to you.

This is not a process you should attempt to do alone. Learning Reiki or another healing touch from an experienced, ethical teacher is highly recommended. Not only will it give you the training to do much of the healing work on yourself, but also it will give you an objective person to monitor your progress. In addition, involving at least one other person in your spiritual ascension process will give you support both on a spiritual and emotional level. As past emotional experiences are brought up to be healed, they frequently become intense. By working with a close friend or experienced healer you will have a stabilizing influence to ground you during these times of stress. Always remember to be patient with yourself. This is not a competitive race. There is no shared finish line to cross. Each person has a different starting point, with his or her own individual challenges and separate goals. There is no way to compare your progress to another’s when there are no common variables. The healing process will take as long as it takes. The only timetable is that which your soul arranges for your best and highest good. The harder you push, the more elusive you goal will become. Only by be patient and allowing will the ascension process proceed.

This is only one path to Kundalini. There are many others, yet each is as powerful and individual as each person. It is more than just a power tip, but a connection to your own soul and the universe beyond. By taking this step, you are beginning the ascension process. May your path to enlightenment be blessed with joy, love and grace.
