Beltane or May Day: Free Ritual

Beltane or May Day--May 1
Beltane is the final spring festival. It not only is the time of planting, but a time to celebrate youth, passion and marriage. Beltane is the bonding day between the Goddess and the God as they bring their energy together to create fertility in the land and in living beings. It is also the time of pasturing animals they are driven out to the fields and mountain grazing lands so they may grow strong and healthy. Although it is a time to celebrate the union between the Goddess and the God, it is said to be very bad luck to marry on this day. On a spiritual level, what is set in motion on this day is what will be harvested in the fall.

Also called May Day, it is a time to celebrate vitality, youth and rebirth. Traditionally, youths hung garlands of greens and flowers on the windows and doors of their prospective mate before the fires are lit Beltane night. Although there many variations, the jumping of the Beltane fire together generally symbolized a romantic or love connection. It is also a time to allow our passion free reign so it may find or create new possibilities; thinking outside the box is easier as old restrictive limits are swept away by the energy created by the intense passions and spiritual evolution.

Spiritually Beltane represents the integration of the male and female aspects of the self. By combining both aspects, a person becomes one with both their halves and achieves a closer connection to their own soul. This union if maintained not only creates a more balanced individual, but help in the ascension process.

Beltane Ritual
Whether it be prosperity, love, health, wisdom, etc, now is the time to plan the seeds of whatever you want to grow this summer. You need to find a symbol to represent what you want. A coin could represent prosperity. A love poem could represent romantic love. Be creative and think outside the box when coming up with ideas. However, as with all love spells or prayers you must be careful about targeting a specific person. If you usurp their free will, there will be consequences for practicing black magic. For the next two days focus on that you really want and the outcome. See it as already real. At the end of the two days, take your symbol to the nearest cross roads and say:

Hear my words as I pray,
Bring (prosperity, love, wisdom, etc) without delay.
With harm towards none and grace toward all,
bring (prosperity, love wisdom, etc) before this fall.

Leave the symbol as close to the center of the cross roads as you can safely get it and walk away. The magic has been released, but you work isn't done. For the next months, you have to find the courage to take the unchosen path. Meaning you have to try new things, meet new people, and release the old behaviors. As long as you continue to do the same old thing, the same old way, you will have the same results.

Secondly, sharing your love and blessings with others opens the door for others to do the same for you. Love shared without strings or expectations is a miracle created for all involved. You don't have to do grand gestures; sometimes a smile and a kind word can save the world.

Tarot Energy Reading for April 26- May 1, 2009

Tarot Energy Reading for April 26-May 1, 2009
By
Theresa Chaze

Like the turbulent spring weather, the winds of change are blowing through our lives. The week of April 26-May 1 will be a time of transformation, revolution and new beginnings. The final spring festival and the time of planting, Beltane week will be a time of fertility, creativity and prosperity. It will give many additional reasons to celebrate. Passion will ignite new hope. Those who have chosen to ride the wave of positive energy by releasing the past fear and anger will find new possibilities in themselves and for others. Being courageous doesn’t mean you don’t feel fear, but that you choose to face it and survive it.

The energy that is coming into this week is the ace of wands. This card appeared in the same position last week as does the next card. The ace of wands represents new work or way of working. It is having the courage to walk a new path and seek a new destination. As the issues of the past are dealt with and old wounds healed, our vision clears to see new people, opportunities and fresh starts. There will be many opportunities to help others find the road less traveled, not with words but with deeds as we walk the walk ourselves.

Once again the eight of pentacles represents the current week. It is a reminder that some lessons take longer to learn or accomplish; however, they are well worth the effort. Although the immediate benefits may not be clear, in 20/20 hind sight all will be understood. The challenge is to trust and allow yourself to dream your dream. Just because you don’t see the way or manor it will manifest, doesn’t mean that it will not appear in your life in the proper way or time. This week doing your best will be enough if you allow the Divine to do the rest.

The energy we take out of this week is the knight of cups. Creative and practical/spiritual and mundane will come into conflict as those who are desperately trying to prevent change will say or do what ever is necessary to keep the status quo. Faith will be tested. Karmic ties will be highlighted as some will be severed, while others will become more secure. There will be high drama as the stage continues to be set for the cosmic transition. Sharing our hope, love and blessings doesn’t diminish us or what we have; in fact, it creates more abundance on all levels.

The energy challenge we will all face is the Queen of Swords. Like Lady Justice, this card represents the karmic scales within all of us. Some will receive bills that are past due; others will receive the long over due paychecks. What each of us receives will be determined by what is in our hearts. Sharing with strings is only disguised selfishness. Giving from the heart is what creates miracles for all.

Author of Sacred Places of the Goddess: Karen Tate

Karen Tate will be stopping by to talk about her book, Sacred Places of the Goddess. Reverend Karen Tate, independent scholar, accomplished researcher, gifted writer, seasoned traveler and sacred tour organizer is a prolific lecturer on the subject of Goddess worship. She will be sharing her adventures, her wisdom and her research. Karen Tate examines the varied Divine Feminine traditions as old as the Neolithic temples of Malta or as new as the Goddess Temple of Orange County, in locations as inaccessible as Sedna's Watery Domain near the Arctic Circle or as crowded as the Ueno Park in downtown Tokyo.

This fascinating travel perspective is sure to become an invaluable resource in every library and on every coffee table and bookshelf as the past is uncovered through the lens of sacred travel. Including both academic and popular religious perspectives, this comprehensive world guide will be of interest to both experts as well as the spiritual novice. Author Karen Tate deftly combines current trends, academic theories, and historical insights, some of which may surprise even the most well read or jaded traveler. This volume of sacred sites brings both lesser-known and famous locales into perspective as it explains the significance of Goddess both today and in centuries past. Whether the reader is an armchair or seasoned traveler, they will be delighted by the insights, humor, as well as the in-depth cultural and artistic experience of Sacred Places of Goddess. Never before have so many cultures, places, and spiritualities of Goddess been compiled between two covers.

Karen Tate will be appearing April 28 at 8 pm eastern at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theresachaze

She will be available to answer questions by calling (347) 324-3745, through Skype on the show's page or in the chat room.

Danelle Drake Reviews Dragon Dragon for Reader Views

Reviewed by Danelle Drake for Reader Views (10/08)

Rachel lives her life by what leads her. She landed in Coyote Springs by asking the Goddess where she wanted her to go, then threw the dart. It is there in Coyote Springs where she will open her "New Spirituality" store, Dragon's Den. Being drawn to a small cottage on the outskirts of town she crosses paths with Kevin Mitchellson. Kevin is the owner of the home in which his grandmother was killed.

Being like many small towns, Coyote Springs is a place where everyone knows of, or about, everyone there. In this town there is great turmoil between the House of Christ church and those who choose to follow otherwise. "Book One of the Dragon Clan Trilogy" focuses on this turmoil and resolution prior to the opening of Dragon's Den....I eagerly await "Book Two" to continue the story.

"Awakening the Dragon" is quite intriguing and will have you also waiting to see what happens next. With few editing errors that do not distract, this story is raw energy. "Theresa Chaze and her writing are based on her philosophy that all people live together in peace as long as we come from respect, not only for ourselves but those who follow different paths or beliefs." This is such a profound philosophy that would greatly benefit many. I often ask myself, "How does one know if what they personally believe is correct?" Life would be much less negative if everyone just accepted what the other believe to be correct for them and our own belief is correct for us, there is no wrong.

Writer Seeking Agent With Contacts in Film and Television

Theresa (Chaze) Pachesny
4366 North Curry Drive
Traverse City MI 49684

I am looking for an agent to represent my work in both the television and film venues. Although my primary genre is fantasy, I intertwine romance, suspense, and humor to create well rounded and multi-dimensional projects. My characters are well developed and flawed enough to be unique, yet realistic. Currently I have two screenplays available. In addition, I have written script for Days of Our Lives, treatment for a prime time TV show and three novels with a fourth on the way.

Screen plays
Winning the 2006 International Gloria Film Festival and placing in the Greenlight Project, Never Can Say Good-bye is a paranormal romance that connects the present with the logging industry of the 1900. To help a friend, Elizabeth agrees to teach a writing course at a small college. She expects to find a sleepy town with a long history, but instead she finds herself dealing a violently jealous wife and the past mistakes she is only beginning to remember. Arriving in town, she finds it uncomfortably familiar. As the controlling President of the college, Judy Olson, shows her around, Elizabeth begins to realize that she has made a mistake and begins looking for excuses to leave. After meeting the famous historian, Michael Scott and his irrational wife, Shane, Elizabeth finds the past becoming more real than the present as the death of a small boy decades earlier reignites an old treachery, which could destroy the entire town. When love leads to vengeance, it is best to say good-bye.

Eye of Ra is an occult horror film that is based on Egyptian mythology. When Isis stole power from Ra, she initiated a guardian who not only had the strength to be the focal point for this great power, but who also had the ability to protect its secrets from those who would abuse them. Jealous of her grandmother and daughters’ spiritual gifts, Sandra takes her youngest daughter, Rikki and disappears. Seeking power, she searches the world for the Eye of Ra; when she finds it, it is Rikki not her that the Guardian chooses. Enraged, Sandra makes a pact with the Dark Ones; if they help her destroy her own daughter, she will use the Eye in their name. Sandra attacks in the middle of the initiation ceremony. The Priestess is killed before it can be completed. Barely escaping with her life, Rikki returns to the small town of her birth. Her physical wounds have healed, but the guilt and self-doubt keeps her from seeing the truth of her life. Sandra follows Rikki to finish what she started, bringing the evil of the Dark Ones with her, and a small northern Michigan town learns the black secret that had been buried among them for generations.

Novels
Awakening the Dragon -- Book One of the Dragon Clan Trilogy--Rachael moves to Coyote Springs to find a home and open her bookstore. Instead, she becomes the catalyst in exposing a murder and the target of a violent cult. She is forced to awaken her dragon spirit prematurely to save herself and all the ones she loves. Will she be able to control the power of the dragon as it rises giving her the power to save all she loves or will the flames from within destroy her?

Dragon Domain -- Book Two of the Dragon Clan Trilogy--Cheyenne and Celeste came to Coyote Springs to save a child; instead, Cheyenne found a home. With the help of their new friend, Jane, they created a spiritual sanctuary. But when Celeste stopped running, her past caught up with her. Dominic arrived with promises of love and passion. Instead of love, he reawakened Celeste’s dark side, turning her against those she loved the most. With the aid of the dragons, Cheyenne was barely able to ward off their first attack. With each soul they bound to them, Celeste and Dominic’s greed and hatred grew until they would not settle for less than totally destroying Cheyenne and all she loves. How do you protect yourself from someone who knows how to steal your soul?

Nict For Ure Selfe (Not for Ourselves)--A paranormal suspense novelette that ties the present with the past as karma awakens an old blood feud. Alyssa attends a local Pagan festival, only to become the target of the local deputy's bigotry and hatred. Unable to understand why she was singled out, she performs a ritual asking Bridget for her help. Instead of gaining wisdom, her spirit is transported back to a time before the Celtic Goddesses and Gods gave way to the Christos and when clan traditions could mean life or death. It will be paired with the novelette, Sisters of Avalon when it is completed.

Days of Our Lives

I had been a fan of Days of Our Lives for three decades: when the writing became unbearable, I started writing alternative storylines for the show and posting them on the NBC boards. What started as a protest, turned into a long term project as fans told me that they liked what they were reading better than what they were seeing on the screen. Not only was I able to remain true to the characters and the show’s history, but I also ended each posting with a cliffhanger.

The link to the thread on the NBC board and later my blog has been shared with people around the world. Not only did they encourage me to keep the ghost story going until the end, but they also gave me the courage to apply for the head writing gig. I was able to find the unlisted phone numbers to on executive producers home and the private office number to the other. Unfortunately, I used an outdated format so they didn’t take me seriously. In addition to the ghost story, I wrote to other partial storylines to prove that I could write other plots besides than paranormal. All three storylines are listed on my site at www.theresachaze.com.

Current projects
Operation Home Base is a nationwide non profit organization with local chapters that gives support to military families, veterans, wounded warriors, and active duty military personnel by working with existing programs and organizations. This project has been submitted to Donald Bellisario for consideration as a spin off to NCIS.

Avalon Sisterhood--Alyssa astral travels to the past to a small island off the coast Britannia to a time when she and her sister priestesses made an agreement with the Earth Mother. Their souls were scattered on the wind; they were to learn the needs and wants from all the cultures of the world, so that when Prophecy is fulfilled, they would be ready to support the transition into the new era. An agreement was made with a small group of Templar Knights. In exchange for safe haven on their Sisterhood’s isle, they would make a soul oath to protect the sisters throughout their karmic travels as well as keep safe their treasures and heritage. As the time of the Prophecy draws near, the sisters awaken only to find the heirs to the knights have claimed the Avalon Sisterhood’s power and wealth as their own. One sister has already been murdered. The rest have become targets as they race to claim what is theirs in time for the cosmic transition.

Graduating from Michigan State University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Video Production with a minor in Theatre, I have worked as a writer, director, producer and all around tech. Recently, I started my own digital production service for authors, publishers and public relations firms. I write, produce, and distribute book videos, which are also called book trailers.

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of April 19-25- 2009

Energy Tarot Reading for the Week of April 19-25, 2009
By
Theresa Chaze

The week of April 19-25, 2009 will be a week of exploration and discovery. The more we find, the more we will seek. This will be true on many levels. No longer will our curiosity and need to know be held back by fear or convention. Instead as in the 1960’s, rebellion and non-conformity will herald the time of great change.

From the past, we find the ace of wands. It is a card of new business, job or ways of approaching both. With the current job market, many are looking for alternative means to achieving their goals and meeting their needs. Whether it be using their talents as a source of income or bartering good and services, they are thinking outside the box. In addition, the sharing of information and contacts is creating a network that is accelerating the ascension process on a spiritual level. Every time one person helps another just because they can, they ignite another candle to push back the darkness. Sharing blessings and selflessly helping is the fuel that will power the age of change.

The energy of the week is represented by the eight of pentacles. It is a time of learning and personal growth that will set the stage for the Awakening. As each person realizes how unique they are within themselves, they are more able to respect and honor the same qualities they see in others. Those who are willing to share their gifts and help others cultivate talents will find their efforts will be reciprocated. As each of us grows spiritually, the whole is enhanced.

The energy we will take out of this week is represented by the eight of swords. There will be confusion and frustration as individuals seek answers only to find none. As long as the masses focus on the negative, instead of seeing the possibilities for change and growth, it will be difficult to keep the whole ascending. Fear blocks hope, which forces some to make rash and irrational decisions. By giving into their mentality we limit our possibilities and cut short our own healing process. However, if we instead send them love and hope, while continuing on our own path, we not only move forward ourselves, but give them the opportunity to do the same.

The energy challenge we all share is the six of cups. We are looking to the past to find not only lost dreams, but we are also reconnecting with people, places and things that we left behind on our learning journey. As we metaphorically come back around to the beginning we have a discovered a more accurate ruler to our life’s progress. Hopes and dreams from the past that we thought were mere fantasies are becoming a reality. They are manifesting on the horizon, just not in the way we expected, but in the Divine’s own time and way.

Tarot Energy Reading for the Week of April12-18, 2009

Tarot Energy Reading for the Week of April12-18, 2009

The week of April 12-18 will be filled with surprises and upsets as many have the courage to release the past and embrace their future. No longer limited by mistakes or expectations of others, they follow their dreams only to realize they are more wonderful than they imaged. By releasing their fear, they allow themselves to journey down a new path, thereby reaching a new destination. Blessings will be only as great or small as the courage and openness that we have to receive them.

The energy we bring into the week is represented by the four of wands. Peace, harmony and satisfaction are the keywords of our lives as we leave the past behind. It is time to enjoy the fruits of our spiritual, emotional and physical labors. Those who did their work to the best of their ability, as situational as it was, shall be blessed with a fine harvest. However, those who clutched to the past like a life preserver in a storm will find themselves alone in the water, waiting for the rescue ship that will never come. Making room in our lives, through trust and love, opens the door for others to enter.

The six of swords represents the energy of this week. The dark clouds of fear, misunderstanding and deceit are blown away by the karmic winds of change. Relationships will end; new ones will begin. Healing will be offered to all. Those who have the courage to trust and accept will find peace. This is the beginning of a new cycle. However, whether it is pleasant or challenge will depend on each person’s point of view and ability to see into her or his own heart.

The Queen of Pentacles is the energy we will take out of this week. Creativity, hope and fresh perspectives are the possibility we will take with us. Stepping back from our past actions, beliefs and ideals will light the way to a new path. In doing so, we will find new possibilities and fresh insights into our own hearts. What we pray for is not always what our hearts desires. Sometimes the object is merely symbolic of a greater need or desire. By stepping back, we allow ourselves to see the bigger picture, which in turns allows us to see the smaller details of our deepest desires.

The challenge we will all face is the three of wands. A card of partnerships and cooperation, the three tells us there are three sides to every situation: mine, yours and ours. When we understand that the ours is an intersection of mine and yours, not only will we more clearly define our own boundaries, but dramatically increase the energy channeled into where our circles over lap in the “ours.” Trusting ourselves and each other empowers all, not only for healing on all levels, but also in creating miracles.

In Search of Simplicity is the extraordinary story of an ordinary man, told with a blend of humor, penetrating insight and adventure. The book is no mere travel saga. It is an adventure into the very heart of life that leaves every reader transformed. There is a message of ecological oneness and of the unity that exists at the core of all religions and beliefs. There is a message of hope and personal healing and finding one’s personal mission in life. And the story is all the more real because it is true and is tempered with sometimes humorous incidents and flashbacks to earlier times in the author’s life.

A Simple Love Spell

A Simple Love Spell-

Most traditional love spells are black magic because they interfere with another's free will. However, if you are very careful you can call love into your life without doing harm to another. Remember not to get specific in either name or description. List the character traits you desire--do not list the physical ones as if you were giving a description to a police sketch artist. Ask for intelligence, a sense of humor, educational level, for mutual respect, that she or he be attractive to you and you to him or her, ask for an age range--do not ask that he have long, sandy blonde hair that is held back in a ponytail, stunning blue eyes, dimples, a good butt, and is wearing a blue shirt who just happens to looks like Mike in the next cubicle. That would be black magic and bad karma.

Three candles love spell--

What you will need:

A pink candle
A white candle
A red candle
A list of attributes you would like in a mate
White, pink and red rose petals

Sprinkle the rose petals together on the list, saying:

“Loved from within I do reach out
with complete hope and lack of doubt.”

Fold the four corners of the list toward the center, keeping the rose petals inside saying:

“From the east, south, west and north
I look for love in every port.”

Light the white candle and allow the wax drip on the list, sealing the edges close to keep the rose petals inside and say:

“With pure motives I seek out
the one who will share love with lack of doubt.”

Light the pink candle and allow the wax to drip on the list, sealing it and say:

“Let our friendship be filled with trust and wonder
which will make us stronger when others attempt to rip us asunder.”

Light the red candle and drip the red on the other two seals and say:

“May our passion for life and each other
keeps us together one to another.
We do seek to become one
while keeping our individuality from being undone.
Strong in ourselves separate and bold
but together we chose each other hold.
Not out of need or shame
we come to each other freely without blame.
Seeking to help each other grow towards the Divine light
we still have each other for comfort on the darkness night.”

OPERATION HOME BASE
Written with love and respect
for those who serve

Seeing the need, a small group creates grass roots organization called Operation Home Base to help those in the military and their dependents to meet the basic needs of life. Existing on donations of time, money and resources, they frequently have to dip into their own savings to keep the lights on. Coming from diverse backgrounds, personalities, and motivations, they put their differences aside and combine their talents to create a bridge between civilians and the military.

After months of trying to close them down, a representative from government offers OHB unlimited resources. The only catch is that along with the money and influence, they must accept the Government's Advocate as the new head of their organization. Is it a honest humanitarian offer or are they once again trying to hide something? And if so, what? Operation Home Base will provide a perspective and understanding, if not the whole truth behind the sudden generosity.

Operation Home Base is a military drama about fictional non profit organization, which is staffed with unique characters, each of which has their own reasons for wanting to help. OHB is a combination between NCIS and Army Wives. There is a wide range of potential stories that can be spun from this set-up, from domestic drama, hospital/therapist drama, legal drama, crime drama, adventure, even the occasional comedic episode.

In the style of MASH and NCIS, Operation Home Base has a strong ensemble cast that will appeal to a broad demographic base that includes gender, ages, and ethnicity.  While MASH focused on the effects of war and NCIS concentrates on  criminal situations involving military personnel, OHB will incorporate both while revealing the challenges military families face daily along with the conflicts that originate from involvement with civilians.  OHB could be best described as a family of man drama, which will show the best and worst of the human condition.  The viewers will be able to easily relate to the characters as family members, friends or the person they see in the mirror. Unlike most new shows, which either appeal to adults or children, OHB will be a drama that will appeal to the whole family.

Set in modern day with occasional flashback to previous wars, OHB will have both rural and urban setting most of which can be created in Michigan with its 42% incentive program. My dream team, includes many older actors, who are not only skilled professionals, but who also have established fan bases that will establish the initial audience. However, the broad base appeal the relevant nature and relevant of the topics will attract an audience that goes beyond gender, age and ethic backgrounds. The generations of veterans and their families are the grandparents, parents, siblings, friends or co-workers to nearly every American and those beyond our borders. Operation Home Base will fill the void for quality entertainment that has been created by the cheap reality shops and those that only offer sexual titillation.

In Search of Simplicity is a startlingly poignant and inspiring real-life endorsement of the power of thought, belief and synchronicity in one’s life. It has been compared with James Redfield’s The Celestine Prophecy and Dan Millman’s Way of the Peaceful Warrior. It is a page-turning adventure story and it’s TRUE!

Theresa, here are a set of endorsements I've recently updated to appear on the first two pages of the book.

“In Search of Simplicity is a truly amazing true story travel/adventure book by a loving and thoughtful man. I LOVED [this] book. I found it fascinating …inspiring, hilarious, moving.”

Amanda McBroom, actress, singer/songwriter and composer of the 1979 worldwide hit, The Rose. www.amcbroom.com

“In Search of Simplicity is nothing short of captivating. It's an incredible travelogue of the spirit, with a plot composed by the universe itself and an author who takes as much delight in language as he does in life. Whether you pick it up for inspiration or for escape, you'll discover that the entire book is evidence for how the whole world conspires to support and delight those who follow their hearts.”

Siona van Dijk, Director of Gaia.com

“As you read the many colorful accounts of John Haines’ true story you find that he has all the color and verve and life experience of an Indiana Jones.”

Elan Sun Star, Photographer-Writer-Teacher , Hawaii

“Like an innocent child, John Haines lures us to join him in awesome wonder at life’s beauty, magic and mystery. His enlightened temperament oozes on every page into a simple philosophy that life has good, everywhere.”

Roselyn DeGaris, Adelaide , Australia

“As modern society takes us further away from simple living, the message in this book brings us back to what matters most, by reminding us that ‘simplicity’ is available at any time when we are prepared to open our hearts and minds and engage fully with the world around us. In this way, being present to each moment reconnects us with the preciousness of life.”

Suzanne Stewart, Buddhist practitioner, Wellington

“…interesting, captivating and thought provoking …a great read and a great author. You won’t and can’t put it down!”

Jenny Hamberger, New Zealand

“This book, a partial-life autobiography, deserves to be read by every individual not yet committed to an 8-5 job, marriage, child rearing and a mortgage. If you happen to be past those decisions in life, you should still read it to discover where you, personally, may have ‘gone wrong’. John Haines, like you, had choices and those he made will serve as pungent examples; it is never too late to change your direction in life.”

Robert B. Cooper, author, technology evangelist, and ‘the father of satellite TV’

“It was an inspiration to read of how [the author] 'let go' so often and allowed the synchronistic energy to step in and let it do its work. It has been a timely reminder for me to let go and allow the same! I have come away from reading [the book] feeling enthused about life’s journey and with the realisation that I had let my enthusiasm become a little faded and hidden by the 'trappings' of our day to day life!”

The Fallacy of Soap Opera Ratings

The Fallacy of Soap Opera Ratings
By
Theresa Chaze

The cancellation of Guiding Light only proves that the network executives don’t understand their own industry. Soap operas are the only genre where they have a true monopoly. It is the single aspect of programming that independent and cable networks simply don’t have a way to compete. To say that the soaps were grandfathered into our lives is into an understatement. Before VCRs or DVR’s, viewers planned their schedules around their favorite TV shows, including soap operas. If they were forced to miss, they found a fellow addict to catch them up or waited for the rerun. Soaps by their very nature don‘t rerun episodes, therefore their viewers became the most loyal and reliable in the industry, making them also a consistent form of income for the networks with their own built in sponsorship consortium.

During television’s infancy, most people only had access to three stations. Competition for viewers was low in comparison to today. This was the era that soap operas were born and their fan base established. It was the guilty pleasure that no one would admit to watching, yet everyone knew what was happening. After school and on vacations, children watched and became addicted to the shows their mothers and grandmothers watched. It is a legacy of fond memories that the children of the 1960s forward have carried into their adulthood.

Although viewership has always been consistent and loyal, it has always been also under reported by Nielsen; people simply didn’t always want to admit they watched soap operas. Even through society and technology has changed, Nielsen’s way of reporting has not. They do not acknowledge delayed viewing, which has become the primary means of watching daytime programming for those who work from 9 to 5. Instead of upgrading their accounting systems to more accurate methods, they continue to use the diaries and equipment that fail to account for delayed or remote viewing.

This statistical over sight has made it appear that the genre is no longer an asset to the networks. This is far from the truth. One would only have to look at the popularity of the fan events, the merchandizing and the demand for interviews with the soap stars to see that their fan base is not only enthusiastic, but actively growing. Fans love their soaps and their stars enough to spend their time, their money and their energy on them. The peripheral businesses make hundreds of million dollars from around the world from fans that simply cannot get enough of their favorite soap.

Yet the sponsor and the networks look only at the ratings without putting them into proper context. The ratings of the past were higher due to the lack of competition for viewers. When the pie is only split three ways, all the pieces are bigger. Cable and satellite networks now give viewers more options for programming, thereby increasing the number of slices in the pie. So the question that must be both asked and answered is--are the lower rating for soap operas just a natural result of the increased division of viewers or is the genre run its course? As long as the comparisons aren’t made on a level playing field, the information they yield cannot be accurate. Before a network makes the irreversible decision to cancel a soap opera, thereby infuriating the fans base, it really needs to compare the ratings across the board for that day part. To do less could very easily cost them a valuable asset.

Waking Kundalini

Waking Kundalini
By
Theresa Chaze

What is Kundalini? By definition, it is a very important aspect of the ascension process. Staring at the base of the spine or first chakra, the energy spirals up through the other six chakras to the eighth or soul connector. The process can be a beautiful, loving experience. However, if not properly awakened, it can be life-shattering event, leading to death or mental and emotional instability. Kundalini is visualized as intertwining snakes, representing the feminine and masculine aspects of the individual, which climbs the spinal cord to connect all the chakras, including the eight, which is the direct connection to individual’s soul and the universe beyond. It is this balance that creates power and strength from the inside out.

Why would one take the risks of awakening Kundalini? It is a soul shaking, faith testing, dangerous experience, but it is also the purest connection to the unconditional love of the universe and the most direct path to the soul’s memory. It’s more than a power surge; it is the doorway to infinite amounts of love and wisdom

Before attempting to awaken the Kundalini force all seven of the chakras must be properly functioning and aligned with each other. They must be spinning in the correct direction and be at the proper vibrational level. This process cannot be forced. Each chakra contains its own lessons and challenges that must be met in the proper sequence. The aligning process is continual. As each chakra becomes stable, it must again be realigned with the others. This is a very simplistic description of a very complex process that usually takes years to complete.

Once your chakras have become healthy and stable, you may begin the process with a series of connections between energy points. The first step is to connect and balance the third eye to the Alta, which is the indentation at the bottom of the skull. This connection must be strong and self-maintaining before you move to the next step. By using healing methods, such as Reiki or Shen, place the fingertips from your sending hand on your third eye and the receiving fingers on your Alta. Starting slowly, send energy from your third eye to the Alta. When the energy flows freely, reverse your hands and send energy from your Alta to the third eye.

The pineal gland trine is the next step. The pineal gland is connected to the memory spheres in both hemispheres of the brain. The memory spheres are on a forty-five degree upward angle from the pineal gland in the center of each of the hemispheres. As with the first step, you create a balance, only this time is between three points. Starting with the pineal gland send energy to one of the memory spheres. When the energy flow is consistent and free flowing in both directions, you then repeat the process with the other hemisphere. The next step is to connect the two hemispheres with each other to complete the trine.

The third step is to connect the pineal gland with the third eye. If there is any pain or disorientation, stop the process. The connection between the third eye and the pineal gland should bring a sense of peace. If you have any other reaction, you are not ready to continue the Kundalini process. If you are wise, you will wait to begin until you are spiritually, emotionally, and physically more mature. If you are ready, the connections between the pineal gland, third eye and the memory spheres will awaken the Kundalini. However, you will not have the energy level to make it rise. By focusing healing energy on the base of your spine and the above mentioned points, you will strength and energize the energy snakes until they are capable of rising on their own. The sensations are individual. Some experience warmth, while others feel cold. It will travel up the spine connecting the chakras, through the Alta, pineal gland to the third eye, where it will loop backward to the crown and out to the eight chakra. It is at this point you will be connected to own your soul and the wisdom from all the past will open up to you.

This is not a process you should attempt to do alone. Learning Reiki or another healing touch from an experienced, ethical teacher is highly recommended. Not only will it give you the training to do much of the healing work on yourself, but also it will give you an objective person to monitor your progress. In addition, involving at least one other person in your spiritual ascension process will give you support both on a spiritual and emotional level. As past emotional experiences are brought up to be healed, they frequently become intense. By working with a close friend or experienced healer you will have a stabilizing influence to ground you during these times of stress. Always remember to be patient with yourself. This is not a competitive race. There is no shared finish line to cross. Each person has a different starting point, with his or her own individual challenges and separate goals. There is no way to compare your progress to another’s when there are no common variables. The healing process will take as long as it takes. The only timetable is that which your soul arranges for your best and highest good. The harder you push, the more elusive you goal will become. Only by be patient and allowing will the ascension process proceed.

This is only one path to Kundalini. There are many others, yet each is as powerful and individual as each person. It is more than just a power tip, but a connection to your own soul and the universe beyond. By taking this step, you are beginning the ascension process. May your path to enlightenment be blessed with joy, love and grace.
