Lee Day: Wildlife Activist and Animal Entertainer

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes will be chatting with wildlife activist and pet entertainer Lee Day on October 27, 2013 at 1 pm eastern as she talks about how we can save lives by getting involved and her work with Doris Day's Animal Foundation.

Lee Day provides a service not performed by any other entertainer world-wide. She has combined two of her most intense passions, show business and pets, into a business that has endured for fifteen years. How about doing something different and unique that has never been done on a sitcom before, a pet wedding, Bark Mitzvah™, romantic date, or baptism party? This is not limited to just dogs and cats, she's performed weddings for horses and penguins, taken two lobsters out on a romantic date, and the list goes on. Ms. Day also throws birthday parties, complete with invitations, specially prepared doggie cakes, ice cream, and party favors. Ms. Day is a singer, actress, comedian and dancer. She attended animal grooming school and also worked at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, New Jersey, training animals for stagework. Her experience in plays, musicals and night clubs inspired her to add a theatrical twist to her trade so she began singing to her animals as she styled them.

Today, she is helped in her work by her loving companion, Dr. Doogie, a smooth-haired Dachsund and a veteran canine talent. Dr. Doogie howls to songs sung by Ms. Day (a favorite being "A Lick On the Face May Be Nice, Wet and Sloppy, But Biscuits Are A Dog's Best Friend.") Recently, Dr. Doogie learned a new song, in honor of John Denver, "Thank God I'm a Singing Dog". Lee says the singing reduces the pets' anxiety while having their hair done. Lee grooms your pet in the convenience of your home or work place. She's preparing to do a romantic date for a chimpazee couple as well as two Koalas with the best man and maid of honor being played by two baby kangaroos in full wedding attire. Lee collaborates with Laurie Meyers, her personal wardrobe designer, who creates custom outfits for her four and two-legged clients from wedding dresses to baptismal gowns and tuxedos.

Her business has been spotlighted on Eye on L.A., the Sally Jessy Raphael Show, Nickelodeon, Eyewitness News, the Regis Philbin Show, The Gayle King Show, A Current Affair and has been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, The Globe, Star-Ledger, L.A. Times, The Enquirer, Woman's World, National Examiner, Londons' Daily Mirror, People Magazine and Instyle Magazine. She has been seen on productions in London, Rome, Japan, and Australia. Lee has worked with the biggies. Her clients include a Bark Mitzvah™ for Joan Rivers' dog, Spike, a wedding for Jim and Tammy Faye Bakers' Yorkshire, Corky, (to a white poodle named Peaches) which were televised. She's also styled Mary Tyler Moore's golden retriever, Dash, and has sung for Princess Diana and her sons.

Fulll Moon Blessing

Happy Miracle Moon.
On this magical night
with the moon so full and bright
blessings quickly find their way
and arrive now without any further delays.
May those who seek to heal the past
find the courage to complete this task.
Those who unconditionally love
will be blessed from below and above.
Miracles flow from our hearts
when we allow our pain to heal and part.
For each forgiveness blessing we have shared
so will our own mistakes be repaired.
With the magic of this night
may all who seek it find their life filled with love and light.

Teen Actor Sean Martin Gives Shelter Animals a Voice

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes will be chatting teen actor and animal activist Sean Martin on September 19 at 4 pm eastern as he talks about his organization “Kids Adopt a Shelter”

Sean Martin was born on April 5, 2000 and recalls wanting to act since the tender age of two years old. This lively and eloquent youngster grew serious about acting at ten years old. His acting debut was as “Young Francisco” of Monsters Inside Me, an Animal Planet series. Martin’s career now includes roles in various College Humor spoofs, television shows such as Team Toon and Redrum and starring as “Damaso” in the film Sin Dolor, which premiered at Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

His passion for animals inspred Martin to create “Kids Adopt a Shelter” to help animals worldwide. “Kids Adopt A Shelter” has grown from 1,000 Facebook “likes” within 24 hours to over 6,200 Facebook "likes," a New Zealand representative, Canadian representatives, 23 state representatives, and over 55 shelter representatives. It has a very simple mission statement:

"My mission is actually very simple, I’d like to include all shelters, even the kill ones… Why? Aren’t there dogs and cats in there too? Why not make whatever time they have more comfortable also? Even more so… I don’t know.. I wish there were not kill shelters at all but reality is they are out there :( .., I wish people would stop breeding animals when so many DIE each day, I wish people would spay and neuter for dogs sakes, I wish people were not so ignorant to hate due to a breed type…I wish we could all just find it in our hearts to do just a little bit more… Its just the right thing to do, why don’t people get it?" – Sean Martin

Interview with American Heavy metal drummer and wildlife advocate Ted Kirkpatrick

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes will be chatting with American Heavy metal drummer and wildlife advocate Ted Kirkpatrick on September 5 at 1 pm eastern.

A founding member of the band Tourniquet drummer, songwriter and lyricist Ted Kirkpatrick’s aggressive, musical, and often unorthodox approach to drumming has been recognized by thousands - critics and fans alike. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ted began playing drums at age 12. By age 14, Ted was playing drums along with the records of many of his early influences, bands like Rush, King Crimson, and ELP. He holds a business degree from the University of Texas, Austin, where he graduated with honors, and often finds himself using the skills learned in college in the many facets of successfully operating the band.

Since the very first Tourniquet release in 1990, Stop the Bleeding, Ted has been a strong voice for animal welfare. "I have a life-long passion for helping God's creation - the animals - and it matters greatly to me how they are treated.” You can hear and feel that passion in songs like "Ark of Suffering", "Stereotaxic Atrocities", and "Going, Going, Gone". His first solo album, released in 2010 – ODE TO A ROADKILL- features "vocals" courtesy of authentic haunting animal sounds, reflecting Ted's deep respect for the animal realm. ODE is a 42 minute hypnotic heavy wall of sound made possible by vintage Orange and Sunn amps. Produced, recorded, and mixed by Ted himself. "I have always wanted to make a record like ODE TO A ROADKILL. I have been a fan of slow “stoner” music for many years, and this album definitely fits that category, with my own influence to it, of course. The title track refers to the sad reality of the millions of animals who die each year on our roadways.”
