Welcome Home Resumes; Transitioning from military to civilian life

Until You Walk The Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes will be chatting with veteran supporter and creator of Welcome Home Resumes , Joseph Corsino on June 24, .2015 at 4 pm eastern as he talks how his organization helps veterans prepare for the transition from military life to civilian.

In 2012, Joseph Corsino founded Welcome Home Resumes, a free service for veterans who needed assistance with their resumes. Since then, the service has evolved into a complete Interactive Employment Program which includes Interactive Resumes, Interactive Interview Training, Job Matching and top tier support both during and after the use of the program. Joe saw a need for a program that was different, one that wasn’t afraid to think outside the box to address the issue of veteran employment.

The Welcome Home Group provides an innovative employment program to any and all veterans, along with their immediate family members. This free program was developed from the ground up to make a difference in the way veterans transition into the civilian workforce. Through our extensive research with HR professionals, hiring managers and veterans alike, we have created an employment system like no other. The program is comprised of several “Common-Sense” modules that allow our team to work with the veteran to develop their Interactive Resume, work on their job interview skills and use our employer matching program. Our program also brings “Follow-Up” into the equation. We work with the veteran AND the employer to track the veterans progress in their new position for the first 6 months after starting a new job.

Horses and Heroes combines the concepts a talk show with that of a documentary, by intertwining the spontaneity of a talk show with the scripted informational aspects of a documentary. It will utilize both interviews and practical demonstrations of horse therapy to give the audience a full understanding of how and why working with the horses help veterans heal. Although Equine Therapy will be the stage, the primary focus will be on the eight veterans as they sharing what they experienced while they served our country and how those events had a lasting effect on their lives as well as on those who love them.

orses and Heroes is not about pointing fingers or creating a political firestorm. It is a documentary series, which will help military personnel and veterans find a new way to cope with the physical and emotional challenges brought into their lives by war. Equine Therapy does not involve drugs nor lying on a couch and spilling their guts to a therapist. What it does do is help them find new ways to see and react to their emotional triggers. It helps their bodies remember how it used to work. It can't replace what was lost, but it can give them the confidence to see that they are more than the sum of their body parts. Horses and Heroes will give veterans and military personnel the information they need to find alternative healing solutions, which can help lower the suicide rate.

It will provide the dual benefit of also providing jobs. We will be hiring veterans already in the entertainment industry as well as opening the door for those who are looking for a new career.
