The combining energies of the Solstice and the New Moon have created chaos in most people’s lives. The feeling of being out of control has brought up old fears and trust issues. It’s is not a lack of faith that has cause us to doubt ourselves, others and our perceptions of both, but the heightening of all our senses, including the ones connected to our spiritual gifts. Even those who have been spiritually and emotionally balanced find that they are reeling from the increasing energy waves. However, it is this influx of energy that will give us the motivation and ability to make the needed changes in our lives. The challenge will be to stay sane, balanced and positive while we are being upgraded from the inside out.

The energy we bring in from the past is the ace of wands. This card represents new business, work or ways of doing both. The economic challenges can be seen as punishments or blessing, depending on your point of view. Those who choose to think outside the box will find new opportunities to change the life by improving their skills or changing their path all together. It is energy of new beginnings and expanding what already exists. It is a time to be open to connecting with others to share information and resources. A blessing shared is a miracle earned.

The four of cups represents the energy of this week. Dissatisfaction or disappointment will make us to want craw back into our caves to wait until it is all over. However, this is the very last thing we should do. Instead of hiding in the dark, we need to seek the sun and the company of others. Running and hiding will only cause us to see what we lack. However, if we have the courage to be open, we can find new possibilities for both ourselves and others.

The energy we take from this week is represented by the three of swords. Sadness and separation will prevail as fear of change will cause clashes within families. Tears could be shed. Angry words could be spoken. True feelings and needs will be revealed as we are forced to face ourselves and our true feelings. No longer will we be able to hide behind polite conversations and half spoken truths. Feelings that we had have buried will continue to dig their way back to the surface. However, this time we will not be able to ignore or dismiss them. The harder we try to run from our inner needs and desires, the more power we will give them to disrupt our lives.

The energy challenge we will all face is the ace of cups. We will be challenged to accept love, joy and happiness from the inside out. Although we can share our happiness with others, we can only find contentment from within. The challenge will be for us to change our focus from being fulfilled through others to that of healing from within. When we build our happiness from the inside out, not only does it make us more stable, but it also gives us something to share with others, thereby being a blessing for all. It is also a time of new beginnings and possibilities for those who are open to them. When we share our love freely with an open hand, we create miracles for ourselves and others.

If you were given one wish, what would you wish for? There was a TV ad that showed individuals using the one wish a genie gave them to manifest a pack of gum. Instead of seeking their hearts desire, they asked for something trivial. How many times a day do we do the same thing in varying degrees; we make wishes that would not be for our best and highest good or would actually harm someone else. If we were fore warned that one of our wishes would come true, only we wouldn’t be told which one, would that change our thinking process?
The nine of cups is also know as the wish card. It is a two edged sword that warns that one of our wishes will be granted; however, you never know when or what wish will be heard. Positive and negative wishes carry equal weigh in the eyes of the Divine. Whatever we focus our attention on is what we will create. When we wish for love, success or health, we must make sure that it doesn’t do harm to another. By trying to usurp their free will, we only create negative consequences for ourselves. However, when we wish a blessing be sent to another, it not only creates a miracle in the other person’s life, but opens the door for our dreams to be answered as well. The nine of cups also gives the warning that a wish could lead to heartbreak, disappointment or a long delay before a hearts desire is achieved. Wishes made while frightened, sad or angry can lead us have harmful yearnings. When others hurt us, it is a knee jerk reaction to wish the same on them. Although there are safe guards in place, visualizing the same wish repeatedly or with our whole soul, energizes it enough so that it can to over ride those protections. Yet if we quickly follow the harmful wish with one that is forgiving and loving, the negative effects are neutralized.
The nine of cups also represents the nine muses, the Goddesses of inspiration and creativity; therefore, it heralds a time of revelation and ingenuity. As the triple Goddesses are tripled, it foreshadows success and material gains, but also gives the warning to be wary of selfishness and greed. August 2007 will be a month of miracles, blessings and the courage to accept them. Many of us in the past have been afraid to follow our bless; instead, we have kept to the secure path, no matter how unfulfilling. In the first full week of August, that will change for many people. No longer will their dreams be held back by society's expectations or their own limitations. Those who have the courage to take the chances will find that they are the ones who will receive the most blessings and universal support. Like the little train who thought he could, so will those who chose to follow their bliss find themselves at the top of the hill.

When I do the monthly reading, I always ask the Goddess to speak through me for the first paragraph. By allowing her free reign for a few moments, she is able to share her wisdom without interruption. Afterwards I tossed the cards. This particular reading startled me. The odds of getting four major arcana in a row are rather high. For me it is sign for me to pay more closely attention to not only the message but to the world around me. The major arcana represents the more direct messages or warnings from the Divine. It is the Goddess or God influencing the energy and wisdom that is given to every individual. By being open and trusting, your own intuition you will lead you to what you need the most.

The energy coming into August is Temperance. It is a card of stability and balance. This card warns against being rash or rushing into projects before you are fully prepared. Patience may be a dirty word, but it is also an important to get the details right so your ducks will be waddling in a row and quacking in time. By building a solid foundation, you will avoid the many pit falls that will cost you time and energy later. Do it right the first time and you will not have to make repairs later. The Sun represents the month of August. The energy coming out of August is the High Priest. This energy represents the coming clash between the individual and “society”. For too long the individual has forgotten that society’s power comes from the one. When one and one and one more come together for support, society looses power while the individual becomes stronger. In the 1960’s this was the bases of the great cultural civil war. “From the Hell no, we won’t go” to the sit-ins and demonstrations, individuals came together proved who was the stronger. One by one, people came together and changed society by demanding their rights. Whereas in the 60’s appearance herald change, the August energy change will come from those who ask questions and demand answers. The venues for disseminating information will be changing nearly as fast as the profiles of the protestors. The ones who are being forced to risk the most will once again be the ones speaking out. In the 60’s they were the younger generation who protesting the war; now they are the parents who are making the same demands they made as teenagers. Those who step up will shine. Those who dodge will suddenly no one is asking questions, because they have stopped listening.
The energy challenge we will all face is the Chariot. This is a card of self-discipline and focusing on goals. By directing our energy on what is important, obstacles will be removed and ground will be retaken. This is self-esteem building energy that will heal old emotional and spiritual wounds. Those who thought they failed to make a difference will suddenly realize that the sacrifices they made were not in vain. Instead, they were the foundation builders, as the changes that began in the 60’s will gain new life and energy.

Like the coming of spring, the energy for April will be a rebirth and an awakening. For many it will be the breaking free of old boundaries, expectations, and worn out patterns. No longer limited, they will soar like eagles above the clouds, experiencing not only a new sense of freedom, but a fresh clarity and objectivity that only comes from breaking free of worn out traditions and beliefs. The Aquarian age of the individual has begun as the sun of the new age has begun to dry the dew from the fields, as a loved one would wipe away our tears. The tears have been shed. The healing has begun. It is time to take action.
The Ace of Cups is the energy that will be brought into April from March. It is an emotional rebirth and fresh hope for the future. No longer willing to be held captive by family members or society's expectations, many will change jobs, their homes and their relationships. It's not that they do not care about what others want or need; they just are no longer willing to subjugate their own lives to satisfy traditions just because that is what they were taught growing up. The questioning of the past has become action of the present. A majority of one will no longer be silenced by the many. The individual will be come master of their own destiny with all the rights and responsibilities that accompany the reclaiming of personal power.
The energy for April is represented by the Nine of Pentacles. Where the will and desire is strong, the practical application still represents a challenge. It is easy to visualize what kind of life you want; however breaking the old habits to create it is another matter entirely. It is harder to step out of the comfort zone in real life. Many people sense they have the power to create change, however they have yet to find a place to begin. By the end of the month, this will no longer be an issue as dramatic social, political and person concerns collide in very unexpected places.
Coming out of April, the energy is represented by the Ten of Swords. Whether real or imaginary, many people will feel a sense of loss and betrayal as they see their foundation crack and crumble around them. The challenge will be what you do with those feelings. If you chose to give into the negativity, more of the same will follow. However, those, who chose to use it as an opportunity to take out the emotional and psychological trash, will find that rebuilding by focusing on the positive will create a stronger, healthier base. Each individual will have to chose for themselves as the ability of society to force its members to conform into the cookie cutter molds of the past will be the first thing that crumbles into dust.
The energy challenge we will all be sharing is the Six of Pentacles. In February 2007, the emotional and spiritual spring will be coming early for many as they have gone through their dark night and the dawn has appeared on the horizon. Those who have done the work will find that by mid February their rewards and awards will be larger than they anticipated. But they deserve no less, for they were the pioneers who faced the challenges of the unchartered territory and blazoned the path for others to follow.
The energy we are carrying forward from the past is the knight of wands. It is a card of sudden change, rash decisions, and radical changes of paths. Projects and challenges were completed only to find that the results, although expected, are no longer suitable for the current situation. The believes that many held dear were suddenly exposed as half-truths or out right lies, leaving the faithful disillusioned and angry. Yet the challenge they will carry forward is to see that the core belief wasn’t false, but the interpretation that they were given was a distortion. Those in control sought keep power over others by using fear, manipulation and bullying. As the truth is revealed, their power base has begun to erode. The image that comes to mind is the French Revolution as those in the middle start taking back their power from those with extreme views and goals.
February is represented by the Queen of Pentacles. Creativity, independence, and thinking outside the box will become the norm as individuals break away from the corporate world. No longer working in the best interest of the individual, corporations will find their best and brightest leaving to start their own enterprises. Only they will not only be loosing talent individuals, but they will be gaining competitors who know what their weaknesses are. February will be the month that more individuals will be willing to have the courage to find other options and have the courage to follow through. It is a month of breaking away from the herd. Only they will not be running solo for long. As more find their freedom, they will create a new herd based more on equality, honor and equitable distribution of resources.
The energy we will take with us is the Death card. Although it will be a jumping off point for many, this card talks more about the transformation and the radical changes that will be happening both within and without. Just like the sword, which has been shaped and strengthened by the forge, the trial by fire has tempered those who have walked through it, making them stronger, wiser and more capable of standing up for their rights, beliefs and those who are less capable. The death will come as the power shifts and the old guard finally topples. It will not be an easy, peaceful ending, but one of betrayal, lies, dishonor, and pain for many. But their attempts to retain control will only hasten their exposure and defeat.
The energy we will all be challenged with is the Star. In this case, the Star represents courage in spite of the odds, honor when it would be easy to sink to lower levels and faith when there is no reason to have it. By focusing on our goals and the path we have set before us, we will find the strength, courage and wisdom to follow through to the end. As we continue on our individual path, we will soon find that the paths start to merge; we are not alone. Together we are stronger exponentially. Together we can tear down the darkness that subdued us with fear and manipulation. Together we can rebuild and restore the balance that was taken from us by the empty souls who sought power for power sake and selfish who tried filling the emptiness within by stealing the light of others.
