A Butterfly is Born receives 5 Star Reviews

Shylon the caterpillar becomes self-aware in her egg. As she develops, she learns and grows to the point that her world had become too small to hold her.   As it breaks away, she becomes both fearful and curious about the outside world. But when the egg disintegrates and she no longer has the option to return to it, her fear becomes anger. Mother calms and comforts her until she is again forced to face another uncertainty.  Shylon's anger escalates with each challenge until she comes to the point when Mother can no longer reach her. Shylon must choose between the path leading to love or the dark angry one where love cannot go.
No matter what our age, like Shylon, we are ever-changing. Physical and emotional growth continues from the time we enter this world until the time we leave it. Whether we like it or not, we continually change and grow. Sometimes, our evolution is so slow and steady that we never notice how much we have evolved until we look backward. Other times, it happens without warning; suddenly the world as we know has disappeared.  Frightened, confused, and frustrated, we sometimes lash out, hurting ourselves and others. Like Shylon, we alone can decide which path we will continue to follow to the end.

I really liked this book! It was written simply and beautifully- very easy to read and the length is wonderful. Shylon is the main character and she goes through a process of self-awareness with the help of “Mother” and a few friends. Her innocence is heartwarming and her fears and pains are so relatable. I cried unexpectedly a few times and felt this was healing me also. I learned to not judge myself as much. A good reminder that we are never alone. There is another story at the end about Shannon that also resonated with me. Overall, I feel one of the overarching themes of this book is to embrace growth and change because we are meant to expand. And it’s also about the ones who support us towards that growth and those changes. Without them, we may not fulfill our potential. It made me think about the people who pushed me- towards being and doing greater. A good read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reclaim your power and have faith in yourself

This book reminded me and taught of how I learned how to emerge from many obstacles throughout my life from childhood through adulthood. I had learned to embrace change, through a serious illness in my later years of life, I learned to stay positive and not to let fear f any obstacle encountered take over my life. I survived. “shylon” in the book means a person of true faith, all one has to do is to believe in something. I highly recommend this book for children or adults. The book is inspiring and offers encouragement and faith in oneself.

This book is an amazing example of what change feels like and the importance of embracing it and not letting fear rule our lives. The name that was chosen for this book “shylon” was perfect! It represents so many good character traits, but the one I love the most is the representation of self-reliance and self-confidence. A very good read for children and adults

This story gives an interesting path for the reader, without question. There are multiple layers as the story builds, just like the main character has multiple layers that are both grown and shed. I like the parallel between the fanciful characters and people. There is definitely the theme of transformation that embraces human emotions and questions and fears but is provided in a safe space, something we all need when faced with ourselves. The final shift to the theatre was a big surprise, but a welcomed one as it made me think more fully about the whole story. Thank you for sharing your work. Joey Giangrosso

Facing Your Fears and Achieving Your Dream

A Butterfly is Born as a Caterpillar Dies gives aid and comfort to those, who are going through life's transitions.

For there to be a beginning, there needs to be an ending. The end of the day is the beginning of the night. Night's end begins with the new dawn. From childhood through the end of life, change is inevitable. How we choose to react will open or close doors. But not always in the ways we expect or want. Even when we chose to make the changes, the excitement intertwines with apprehension as we walk through the threshold into unknown. Some people we meet will help and support you. Some will challenge you. But each of them will play an important role in helping you learn and grow.

This is the lesson Shylon learns. She awakes in her egg. At first, she is afraid. But quickly realizes that she is safe and secure in her own little world As she starts to outgrow it, the feeling of security is replaced by fear of loss. When a piece of it falls away and she sees the world beyond, her fear intertwines with amazement and curiosity. The harder she tries to stay in her egg, the faster it falls away. She has no other choice than to release the past and follow her destiny.

Free Tarot Reading for April 2008

Tarot Energy Reading for April 2008
By
Theresa Chaze

This month the increasing energy will cause many to draw a line in the sand that will be deeper and more resolved than ever before. No longer willing to follow others expectations and rules, they have taken back their power and have started demanding their due. They have claimed their right of free will and have accepted the responsibility for charting their own course in life. No longer satisfied by the Grand Design or being told to wait for their needs to be met, they have rallied their power and have chosen to manifest on their own. No longer led around by the promised carrot, they have banded together as one time enemies see the puppet strings that have manipulated them, not for their good or the spiritual growth of the whole, but to satisfy the ego driven personal agendas of those who had been assigned to guide and protect. However, these guides and protectors have forgotten their role, claiming mastership over those they were assigned to serve. Their actions have not gone unnoticed by those beyond this realm. With the New Moon, the accounting has begun; balance will be restored. The New Age has begun nearly four years early.

The energy that will be brought in from the past is Justice. The long hidden truths will be revealed in such a way that they cannot be denied or excused. The middle of the month a single event will start a cascade that eventually will become an avalanche. Those that hide behind their false authority will find the spotlight shining hotly on them; they will no longer be able to lurk in the shadows as the light will follow them no matter where they run. Ghosts will awaken and join in the hunt for justice, bringing with them the destruction of those who had come to power through deceit and theft. Justice for one will lead to the revelation for three other as well as those far beyond. Those who must took fear in others for respect find that they no longer have the ability to have either. Even a rabbit will turn and fight when it is given no other option.

The month of April is represented by the Knight of pentacles. With the frustration, confusion and uncertainty, many will find themselves stuck--unable to motivate themselves to keep moving forward. However, if they refused to look at the big picture and instead focus on the tasks at hand they will renew their sense of purpose and find their strength of will rapidly returning. Like a house that hasn’t been cleaned in ages, to look at the task at a whole, it would be daunting; yet if you focus on one room at a time, the task unfurls itself with ease and grace. So shall we look at this month. As each revelation shakes our infrastructure, if we address each individually, while waiting for the end of the month for the full accounting, we will avoid the much of the paralyzing negative backlash.

The energy that we will take out of April is the nine of wands. This card talks about a new strength and wisdom that will clarify future goals and past mistakes. It is an awakening of personal responsibility and free will. No longer willing to merely exist in their own lives, more people will find their voices and the willing to use them. Simple and easy answers will no longer be good enough. Not only will the masses demand details, but also expect to be told the long range consequences of every possible path. “Because I said so” is not a viable answer to any question. Specific facts and details will have to be given along with the reasoning behind them. There will be a major breaking away from traditions, as once again individualism will be celebrated. However, unlike the seventies, it will not result in a “me only” viewpoint. But that of individuals banning together to restore civil liberties and civil rights. Groups who were in conflict before suddenly find they have common ground and a common enemy.

The challenge we will all face is the four of swords. Many will feel isolated from their dreams and society as whole. It is a time to rest, recuperate and rethink. The long dark night of the soul is over. The dawn is breaking. However, before over reacting, each of us need to stand back and find perspective giving the sunlight the time to drive away the shadows. If we act too quickly, before giving ourselves time to gain objectivity, we become that which we wish to destroy. Do the research. Get the facts. Find the truth. Face the fears. In doing so, not only will the foundation be restored, but also it will be made whole.
